We have two league results to share with you from the weekend.

Some notable performances from all four teams and a shout-out to Arreton Cricket Club captain Josh White on his maiden century, congratulations! 🙌

We have a weekend off now due to the festival but we'll be back on Saturday 27th when both teams are back in league action - the second team host Ryde CC at Newclose Cricket Ground and our first team travel to Shanklin and Godshill Cricket Club. 🏏

What a fantastic performance from Newport Ladies yesterday! 💙💛

Our first game of the season was certainly eventful, but the team should be incredibly proud of how they played. It was a superb team performance, with everyone giving their all while having plenty of fun out on the pitch – exactly what cricket is all about.

A special mention to Jess and Daisy for a fantastic batting partnership for Ventnor. Their impressive total of 172 will surely take some beating and could well be one of the highest scores of the season! 👏

Newport narrowly missed out on the runs, but there were so many positives to take from the game.

I’m so proud of our Newport ladies for stepping up their game, especially those making their first appearance for the club. Josie was exceptional in the field and a thoroughly deserved Player of the Match! ⭐️

Well done also to Claire, Peni and Charlotte, Ely, Sandy, for some excellent bowling and batting performances, and the fielding throughout the team was outstanding.

Lucy, Lara, and every single player – thank you for the commitment, effort and enthusiasm you showed. It was a brilliant opening game and a great platform to build on for the rest of the season.

We go again in a couple of weeks. See you all at training! 💙💛
