⚽️ Another top session with both groups last week! ⚽️

We focused on dominating 1v1 situations in attacking areas and improving our goal scoring. It was fantastic to see the girls growing in confidence, expressing themselves on the ball, learning new skill moves and then putting them into practice against defenders.

There were plenty of great moments throughout the session, with players creating opportunities, working on different types of finishing and scoring some brilliant goals! 👏🔥

This week we’ll continue to build on that work, with a further focus on finishing and applying these skills in more game-realistic situations.

With just five weeks remaining this term, we’re excited to keep pushing the girls’ development and finish the block strongly.

A huge well done to everyone involved last week – the effort, attitude and enthusiasm were outstanding! 🧡💚

💚🧡⚽ Good luck to the Cowes Thunder girls with their fundraising efforts!

Many of the players train with us at UCanPlay, and it’s been brilliant to watch their development, confidence and love for football continue to grow.

They’re now fundraising towards attending the ESF Festival of Football – an experience that will create lifelong memories both on and off the pitch.

🧡💚 TEAM SHOUTOUT 💚🧡

A huge shoutout to Cowes Community FC Cowes Thunder girls, many of whom attend our Tuesday UCanPlay sessions.

Watching this team develop over the last year has been incredible. For many of these girls, their football journey started with some of our very first UCanPlay sessions, and to see how far they’ve come since then makes us incredibly proud.

Their recent achievements at the Ventnor and Southbrook tournaments are a reflection of the hard work, commitment and determination they’ve shown throughout the season. But more importantly, it’s been amazing to see their confidence grow, friendships form and love for the game continue to develop.

Trophies and medals are fantastic, but seeing girls who were new to football a year ago now competing, smiling and believing in themselves is what it’s all about.

Keep working hard, keep supporting each other and keep enjoying your football. The future is bright for this group! ⚽️✨

Massive credit to Marshy (Isle of Wight Community Sports Coaching) and everyone involved in making Goals & Dough happen. From the planning to the delivery, this was very much his event and it was brilliant to see so many families come together and enjoy it.

At UCanPlay we’re grateful to have been able to play a small part and support an evening that was all about giving Island children more opportunities to be active, socialise and have fun.

It’s always a pleasure working alongside people who genuinely care about developing sport on the Isle of Wight. Strong partnerships like this help create more opportunities for both boys and girls across the Island.

For anyone attending UCanPlay tonight, training is going ahead as planned.

The forecast suggests there may be some rain during the session, so please ensure players bring a waterproof/raincoat and come dressed appropriately for the conditions.
