Belle Vue traveled to Pontypool today for a match against PILCS Bowls Club. Despite being two players short of a full squad, the team put in a determined performance today and gave 110% from the first wood to the last.

The weather threatened to bring proceedings to a halt on several occasions, but thankfully the rain mostly held off, allowing everyone to enjoy a full afternoon of competitive bowls.

There were plenty of positive performances across all four rinks, with the team battling hard throughout the match and securing a well-earned rink win. The commitment, effort and team spirit on display were a credit to the club, especially given the challenges faced before a wood had even been delivered.

While the overall result didn't fall our way, there was no shortage of determination and good bowling throughout the afternoon, giving the team plenty to build on in the weeks ahead.

We would like to thank PILCS for their warm hospitality and an enjoyable match, wish them every success for the remainder of the season, and look forward to meeting them again later in the year.

Belle Vue Bowls Club recorded their first MBA League victory of the season with an impressive 12-2 win over Pontymister Welfare Bowls Club on home soil today.

The hosts Belle Vue, produced a strong all-round performance, claiming victory on three of the four rinks to secure a deserved result. Every player contributed to the success, with the team showing significant improvement compared to previous outings and demonstrating the progress being made throughout the squad.

It was also encouraging to see supporters in attendance, with their backing helping to create a positive atmosphere and providing a welcome boost to player morale.

A special thank you goes to our dedicated volunteers for their hard work behind the bar and to our valued sponsors, The Italian Job at Newport Market, for their continued support of the club.

This important first win gives Belle Vue plenty to build on as attention now turns to the next MBA League fixture away to PILCS.

Belle Vue narrowly fell to a 60-58 defeat away at Whiteheads in the NBA this afternoon, but there were plenty of positives to take from the performance.

The team showed great improvement throughout the match, competing strongly against a solid Whiteheads side in a closely fought contest where we won two rinks from four. There was plenty of quality on display from both teams, with the game played in good spirits and full of banter both on and off the green.

Despite the narrow loss, Belle Vue can take confidence from the progress shown and will look to build on the performance in the coming fixtures.

We wish Whiteheads all the best for the rest of the season.

Next up for Belle Vue is a home fixture on Saturday 30th against Pontymister Welfare at 15:00.

The team travelled to Gilwern Bowls Club today for what proved to be a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon of bowls played in glorious sunshine on one of the most picturesque greens in the South Wales countryside.

It was a closely contested match throughout, with our side securing victories on 2 of the 4 rinks. Despite everyone performing well and putting in a strong team display, we narrowly missed out overall by just 4 shots.

There were plenty of positives to take from the game, with some excellent bowls played across the afternoon and a great atmosphere enjoyed by everyone involved.

We would like to thank Gilwern for their warm hospitality and sportsmanship, wish them every success for the remainder of the season, and look forward to welcoming them to Belle Vue later in the year for the return fixture.

Another good afternoon on the green today in what proved to be a very enjoyable and competitive match against St Julian's Bowls Club.

Everyone played well and the team can take plenty of positives from the performance. Since our last meeting with St Julians, the improvement throughout the side has been clear to see, with some excellent bowls played across all rinks. Although we came away without the win, the scoreline showed just how much progress the team continues to make.

As always, there was plenty of good banter and great spirit throughout the game, which made for an excellent afternoon of bowls.

We thank St Julians Bowls Club for their sportsmanship & wish them all the very best for the remainder of the season, and look forward to meeting them again later in the year.
