A sad update on our beloved Captain 💚 💛 💙
This may come as a shock to some, although we know the news has been filtering through locally and amongst friends and family over the last few days. We therefore feel it is right that we provide an update on Daz.
As we previously mentioned, the results of Daz’s scans were sadly not what anyone had hoped for.
Daz was transferred back to the Island over the weekend and spent the last few days in ICU at St Mary’s, where close family, friends and teammates have been able to visit and spend time with him.
Sadly, Daz has now gone into palliative care, where he will continue to be cared for and kept comfortable as we prepare ourselves for what lies ahead.
It is absolutely heartbreaking news, and we cannot thank everyone enough for the love and kindness shown to Daz, his family and everyone close to him throughout this horrific ordeal.
For those asking what they can do, we would simply ask that you continue to donate to or share the GoFundMe for Isle of Wight Defibrillators. Every donation and every share helps.
From a football perspective, there will be no fixtures for us until further notice as we continue to come to terms with what has happened.
Above everything else, we ask that Daz’s family continue to be shown the respect, privacy and dignity that everyone has afforded them throughout.
And if nothing else tonight, give your loved ones an extra hug.
