After working with well over 1000 people since being in this game for the majority it’s not actually down to not wanting to eat the right foods it’s more the fact of not wanting to spend time prepping. Which I get! However realistically in order to level yourself up at times just like any other aspect in life things will have to change. 🔁

For me personally I’ll map out the day previously when I’ll eat time wise or prep and I appreciate the fact those times won’t always be bang on at least I’ll have something to aim for! If you haven’t set the target you’re going to miss guaranteed. Would it be easier to grab a McDonald’s? Yes, however will that get you bag closer towards your goals? Probably not…

Be willing to change small habits if you want change physically…

Parents/business owners/extreme jobs I know the excuses wil be there but same rules apply. The amount of my client base that may have kids/businesses and crazy responsibilities we STILL get it done. Excuses are there if you want them.

Gaining phases - Stop just eating rubbish and saying it’s because you’re a “Hard gainer”. Take it from someone who’s gained 42kg plus of lean muscle! 🫡

When you go into a gaining phase, it’s very important that the majority of your food intake comes from clean, whole food sources. This will aid digestion and help make sure both digestion and performance are at their peak.

If you then need to top up calories with less whole-food sources or quicker carbs — either pre- or post-workout — there is absolutely a place for that. Just make sure that before using those other food sources, the clean whole foods are already in place so everything sits on your stomach as well as possible.

Competing can be super daunting at first and it’s good to be surrounded by those who have been there and done it. So many ups and downs within prep so to have conversations and go back and forth with each others experiences definitely helps!

MANY overvalue being in the gym and undervalue recovery. ❤️‍🩹

You’re keen to gain muscle and drop body fat we get it. 🫡

However irrelevant of how much emphasis you have on training recovery will always be the a huge piece of the puzzle when it comes to progress. 📈

Just some general points for maximum recovery capabilities. ⬇️

🔹6-8 hours sleep a night
🔹3 Litres of water minimum per day
🔹Minimum 2 rest days a week away from resistance training
🔹Adiquate supplementation
🔹High focus on stress management
🔹High focus on both micro and macronutrients within your overall calorie intake

Overall yes these are basics however many fail with consistency of these.

You grow OUTSIDE of the gym more time in the gym it’s always better. 👌🏻
