More opportunities. More confidence. More women in cycling. πŸš΄β€β™€οΈ

For Christine White, cycling is about much more than riding a bike. Through the HERA Project, she’s creating opportunities for women to get involved, develop their skills and find their place in cycling - on and off the bike. πŸ’«

From grassroots sessions and racing to coaching, volunteering and leadership, HERA is helping build a more inclusive future for women in cycling across Wales. 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

With around 35 riders now taking part in weekly sessions and an elite squad already achieving national podiums, the impact is growing. πŸ“ˆ

And it’s about more than medals. It’s about confidence, community and creating opportunities for women to become riders, racers, coaches, volunteers and leaders. 🀝

How can major events inspire a generation of women and girls to cycle? πŸš΄β€β™€οΈ

That was the focus of the latest Beicio Cymru Women’s Community meeting, bringing together women and girls’ cycling advocates from across Wales to share ideas, experiences and ambitions for the future. πŸ’‘

With the Lloyds Tour of Britain Women, Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes providing huge opportunities to inspire, the conversation focused on turning race-day excitement into long-term participation.

From women-focused sessions and social rides to stronger community activity, role models and clearer pathways into clubs, coaching and volunteering, one message stood out: getting people on a bike is just the beginning.

As Wales prepares to welcome the Tour de France next year, the work continues to make sure the inspiration of major events creates opportunities that last well beyond race day. πŸ’«

With just 10 months until the Tour de France arrives in Wales, clubs recently came together for our Tour de France Club Engagement Session to share ideas, hear more about Beicio Cymru’s legacy plans and explore how clubs can get involved. πŸ’‘πŸ‡«πŸ‡·

The session explored how the Tour de France can create opportunities that extend beyond the event itself, with clubs playing a key role in inspiring more people to discover cycling and get involved locally. πŸ“£

A big thank you to everyone who joined the conversation. πŸ’¬

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the John Richards Junior Tour a success last weekend. πŸ‘

From volunteers, commissaires and event organisers to NEGs, drivers, static marshals, team staff, parents and everyone working behind the scenes, it takes a huge team effort to bring an event like this to life.

Every person who played their part gave their time, energy and commitment to help create an event where young riders could race, compete and enjoy racing.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the weekend possible. πŸ’«
