Finally a huge well done to all our volunteers and committee who without you, we wouldn't be able to organise and successfully host a football festival where almost 140 teams, 1300 children and approximately 3000 people attended and had fun 🦎🦎☀️

For teams who are taking part in day 2 of our festival tomorrow, the Tournify app has been updated with the pitch details.
Please remind your parents/guardians, that the car park is £3 per car and it's £3 per adult entree fee.

All children and coaches go FREE.
Cash or card accepted ✅

Please get there early as the traffic was very busy today, due to local road restrictions with delays 20/25 mins from the Aldi roundabout.

There is an alternative route to the school, from the KFC roundabout, via the Leeway Industrial Estate which should help with delays and traffic, thanks 🦎🦎♥️⚽

Dear Residents,

We are writing to inform you of an exciting project happening at the Pontfaen Shops. As part of the development at Longmeadow Court, built by Hale Group Ltd on behalf of its client, Hedyn, we have been able to carry out various works to help support the local community. You may already be aware of some of these improvements, such as the two mosaics which are placed in Moorland and Broadmead which have been created in collaboration with local children from Lliswerry Primary and a community arts specialists, Tanio Cymru. Due to overwhelming positive feedback, we are now extending this work to create a mural at the Pontfaen Shops.

The project was brought to our attention by the local councillors who discussed a strong desire to improve this area, this was also echoed by results from a community consultation held by Hale and Hedyn, in which residents and young people wanted to improve their local area by making it a cleaner and more vibrant place to live.

This mural is being created by a Newport artist, Andy O’Rourke, and will be shaped by residents and students at Lliswerry High to ensure that it reflects the voice of the local community. To achieve this, we will be hosting several workshops to gather your feedback and thoughts which will shape the final artwork. Sessions will be held at Newport High with year 9 and 10 students in collaboration with Careers Wales to gain insight from local young people. We will also be hosting a community event on Saturday the 6th of June between 11am-2pm with the aim to gather wider views from residents to shape the mural. The session will be led by various artist to help mould the design through music, crafts and art. We would be delighted for you to come along and get involved, speak with members of staff and have your voice heard.
