The Anchorage CS

The Anchorage CS Ideally located for the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. The Anchorage at Bullo Pill, Newnham is a Freedom Camping Club Certificated Site.

Situated near the banks of the River Severn, we are located at the south-western corner of the prominent Horseshoe Bend which dominates the local scenery from many viewpoints. The Severn Way footpath runs adjacent to the site and provides an excellent vantage point to view the world renowned Severn Bore, with access for surfers just a few miles up river. We provide a central base for access to the

many visitor attractions and natural wonders which the area has to offer. The site provides electric hook-ups, a shower and toilet block, dish washing facilities and wi-fi. Our small selection of fruit trees, and the purchase of some free range chickens, provides for homemade jams, chutneys and fresh eggs to be available for sale to our visitors.

Restricted winter opening

Due to the problems encountered during the wet spring with vehicles having to be towed off site, our winter availability will be subject to weather conditions.

Apologies to anyone who has tried to make a booking since April 27th. At 1pm today our landline and broadband were finally reconnected following damage to our overhead phoneline. We look forward to resuming normal service

Having maintained the same fees for the last 4 years, we have to bow to increased costs. Our fees per night for upto 4 adults for 2023 are now £20 without hook up and £25 with. We feel this still offers good value for money and remains comparable with other sites in the area.
