Picasso’s first show went well. He loaded first time at 7 am, he travelled quietly in the trailer. It was a bit difficult to get his boots and tail guards off as there was so much for him to see, he didn’t want to stand still.
We had a bit of a wait outside the arena which all helped settle him down. Once in the arena he was scared of the the flags that were making a lot of noise in the wind, and the bloodhounds in a big cage next to the top of the arena were also making a lot of noise. This meant he didn’t trot as well on his first trot. He was initially put 9th out of 11 in the line up, but after his individual show he was moved up to 7th place. Just out of the ribbons. We need to work on improving standing still in the arena which will develop as he goes out to more shows. A very enjoyable early morning out.
