What a day! Our Club Championships Finals Day was held on Sunday and got off to a rather damp start at 10:00am, with the weather making conditions tricky from the very beginning. 🌧️
With the hard courts re-puddling and therefore drying slowly, the majority of our 19 finals ended up being played on our fantastic artificial clay courts, which once again proved their worth!
Thankfully, the weather brightened up around mid-afternoon and we were treated to some lovely late-summer sunshine ☀️, making for a fantastic afternoon and evening of competitive tennis.
The tennis continued right through the day, with the final doubles match not finishing until around 9:00pm! 🎾🌙
A huge thank you to our committee members who helped throughout the day with refreshments, keeping everyone fed and watered during what turned into a very long Finals Day. 🥓☕ And a mention and thank you to member Ann for kindly baking & donating the delicious cakes for the day 🍰
We’d also like to thank all our members, family and friends who took the time to come along, support the finalists and create such a great atmosphere around the club. Your support really does make days like this special. 👏💚💛
And finally, a massive thank you to our Head Coach Kris for getting everything organised and through to Finals Day, and for working tirelessly to keep the matches moving and get all 19 finals played despite the challenging conditions. 👏🎾
