🇬🇧💷 Big change coming to British banknotes…

The Bank of England has announced that native wildlife will replace historical figures on future notes, ending a 50-year run of icons like Sir Winston Churchill and Jane Austen.

Nice idea… but we’ve got a better one 👇🐎

This Michael Owen story about Sir Alex Ferguson:

🗣️ "He would pick the team and you knew if someone big was getting dropped and someone else was coming into the team. You'd see Sir Alex after training with his arm around someone's shoulder and you'd think 'ooh Scholesy [or someone] is not playing'.

"I'd been there a few weeks then all of a sudden on a Friday, he shouted: 'Michael, can I have a word?' and I thought 'I'm playing' because I hadn't played the first couple of games as it was Berbatov and Rooney.

"He puts his arm around me and goes 'right, I see you have got some runners at Chepstow today, have you got any tips?' I got so excited and that was it, I knew where my place was." 🤣

So gutted for Bill’s family, our paths crossed many times.
Usually at Lingfield, where I bought Hillbilly Boy after he won a seller for Bill. He went on to be my first Royal Ascot runner and possibly the best horse I ever trained.
Great memories!
