Alfriston Cricket Club v Denton Village Cricket Club

First game of the new era Barclayball !!!!

On the picturesque ground of our friends Alfriston on a sunny but windy day and a game played in excellent spirit .

Skipper TB won the toss and chose to bat after himself and Liam Poulton opening and making starts we were found ourselves 57- 4with new signing Gilly and young gun Freddie (Wombo) one showing all his experience and the other playing with a temperament beyond his years with a 💯 partnership both top scoring with 45 , then with some useful cameos from another new signing Sam Nugent and Sharpey ( Gollom) we ended on a respectable 200-9

In reply Alfriston openers came out showing intent but some sharp fielding and TB geeing all up Sharpey snr got us off to a perfect start trapping their opener LBW in his first over bowling unchanged for 3/38 Alfristons number 3 Callum Crowhurst despite being dropped early on looked in good early season form batting beautifully for 53 looking like he could win the game very quickly and get in the smugglers inn !!! early before Sam Nugent got one through his defences to take 4/30 on debut and with Poultz Jnr chipping in with 2/13 Alfriston bowled out for 137.

At last we get a game and win too !!!!
