Choose your cardio.. if you enjoy it you’ll do it!!

For my cardio in the gym I set myself a goal 300 in 30. Should I complete it sooner I can leave sooner. I prefer interval hill sprints.. or the stairclimber… short bursts of power is what my legs are built for. I also love to get outdoors and power over terrain with Boo. She’s a powerhouse and can exercise for miles and never gets tired. Running up stairs and hills are our favourite and it makes cardio never feel like a chore. I’ve been training my dog since she was a pup so her fitness levels are insane. She is possibly one of the fittest frenchies you’ll ever meet!!

Do your stretches

Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints. Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage

lettuce wraps with and
1 steak
Bulgogi marinade
▢ 1 tbsp soy sauce
▢ 1tbsp brown sugar
▢ 2 cloves garlic, minced
▢ 1/2 tsp minced ginger
▢ 2 scallions, sliced
▢ 1/2 tsp sesame oil

Kimchi for topping
Sesame seeds for topping Konjac noodles for topping. Lettuce leaves

Instructions
Marinate the beef: In a resealable Ziploc bag, combine all the bulgogi marinade ingredients until evenly combined. Add the thinly sliced meat, making sure it’s evenly coated in the marinade. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours or overnight.

Grill meat: Heat a large griddle or pan over HIGH heat with a little bit of cooking oil. Sear the marinated steak slices (shake off excess marinade) for about 1 to 2 minutes per side. Tip: Do not overcrowd the pan – this will keep the pan hot throughout for a good sear. Cook the beef in batches.
If you double the quantities
Sliced scallions for topping
Assemble: Add some konjac on top of the lettuce leaves, then the cooked beef, kimchi, sliced scallions, and sesame seeds (or any toppings you may like). I like to serve this dish family-style and let everyone build their own lettuce wraps. This is a healthy recipe you can eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you’re like me you can eat anything no matter what the time is… 😁

Back at the gym after two weeks off due to family reasons. I definitely needed it…
Leg day today which hit back at me as I took Boo trekking up the hills or moors yesterday.
My legs were solid, everything kicked in on the warm up and 1st rep 🤣😳

On the left was the very start of my gains. I’d shredded down to compete having no bodybuilding experience beforehand and tiny bit of muscle mass. That was Jan 20.. don’t you love a timeline memory!!
And the right is Dec 22.. I think I can say that yes I’ve built some muscle. It’s great to see old pictures and sometimes I think I’m tiny and I haven’t built that much.
Building muscle takes time. You have to eat, train hard and consistently. You have to put the work in and not be afraid of gaining weight. This is 2 years of work and I just keep going. I always said age is but a number as I head into my 42nd year. I just wanted to see what my body and mind can achieve… and I think it can achieve great things.
