Giving out of fishing marks….

As most of you are aware I won’t give out marks, if I’m posting a fish on social media whether it’s my own or a customers I’ll pop it on with which county it was caught in and no matter how many people ask thats all I give out. Some guys don’t like this but I really don’t care.

I’m not going to start naming marks on social media or in the shop for everyone and their granny to flock to. I don’t need to do it, I’d ruin the trust of local anglers who support me year round and swamp marks with anglers that I don’t know who might kill everything the catch and not care about catch limits or catch and release for certain species.

However if an angler is in the shop face to face and names exactly where they are heading fishing I will advise them on how I would approach it on the specific time they’ll be hitting it that day, what lures I’d use and why. This takes a few minutes as I’ll have a quick google to see what state the tides at, wind direction and forecast but I’m giving them accurate information for the mark that they are already heading to giving them a better chance of catching a fish while they are there which angling should be about. This is obviously only advise and up to you to actually put in the effort to apply the advise given.

I won’t name a mark across social media for anyone to see which myself or other anglers may have put 50 hours into to work out the best way to approach it giving us the best chance in the hope of making a couple of pound extra.

If you don’t like this approach then maybe another shop that will sell you anything and not specific to the mark you’ll be fishing or even the species your targeting just to fill their till.

-bass comp in wales, Ryan catches po***ck 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
-Merv travels to County Down and wants to catch po***ck, Ryan runs past him on the rocks to get his favourite spot to catch po***ck in front of him 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

He’s a far better angler than just po***ck, he once caught a bass but I can’t remember when since it was that long ago.

Seatrout…. I think he thought he competed that 10 years ago because I haven’t seen a recent one

And then there’s the stories of conger eels when he was 20, mate that was over a decade ago.
