Bike Mechanic & Sales Advisor (Apprentice or Experienced)
Location: Mourne Cycles, Newcastle, Co. Down
Position: Full-Time or Part-Time
Mourne Cycles is looking for an enthusiastic, customer-focused individual to join our team.
This role is open to both apprentice and experienced bike mechanics.
We're looking for someone who lives and breathes cycling, enjoys working with people, and takes pride in delivering excellent service both in the workshop and on the shop floor.
The Role
This is a varied position that combines bicycle mechanics, customer service, and retail sales. You'll be helping customers find the right bikes, accessories, and solutions while also carrying out servicing and repairs.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Service, repair, and maintain a wide range of bicycles
β’ Build and prepare new bikes for sale
β’ Diagnose mechanical issues and recommend appropriate repairs
β’ Assist customers with bike, clothing, accessory, and equipment purchases
β’ Provide expert advice and outstanding customer service
β’ Manage workshop bookings and service schedules
β’ Support stock management and general shop operations
β’ Help maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming store environment
What We're Looking For
β’ A genuine passion for cycling and the cycling industry
β’ An active cyclist with enthusiasm for helping others enjoy the sport
β’ Strong customer service and communication skills
β’ A positive attitude and willingness to learn
β’ Good practical and problem-solving abilities
β’ Previous mechanic experience is desirable but not essential for apprentice applicants
β’ Retail or sales experience is an advantage
β’ Good IT skills and confidence using computer systems are desirable
