A quick video showing a HIIT cardio session on the boxing gloves I did last week with 3 of my clients at the end of a weight lifting session.

Boxing is a great form of cardio that I love using with clients who aren't to keen on CV equipment. It makes cardio a little bit more exciting letting you blow of steam while burning calories. You develop cold sweats as you have to concentrate on your routine instead of how tired you are. Before you know it you've done 1 minute of cardio at 80% of your maximum heart rate.

I hope you enjoy the video these lads have come along way since they started with me.

Thought I would share a post about goal setting because I have been working on this a lot with clients recently and it has been extremely beneficial.

The SMART target acronym is a great way to get started and make sure your goal setting is efficient and effective.

Whether the goals are super short term or way off in the future it is crucial you have set some. They will help you stay on track and give you a great sense of achievement when you have accomplished them.

Inbox is open as always so let me know if you need help with your goal setting!

So Facebook live didn't work today because when does technology not let you down.

But here's a quick clip from part of the class. Thank you to those who joined in, i know it was a hot day but everyone did really well. Definitely a few broken sweats!

Had to go get a massage from Massage Therapy - Travis Holley
afterwards which i would definitely recommend!

Give us a like if I should do more public stuff like this?

Got bored doing cardio today so decided to have a go on the skipping rope. Remember to keep changing up your workouts so you don't get comfortable. You don't make big progress in your comfort zone!

3 months ago Ed started his personal training program with Lewis Whitelaw Fitness.

To begin with we looked at adding a few new exercises to his training program. Introducing a bit more variety and fine tuning some of his workouts. In the end Ed was doing super set, drop sets and number of advanced exercises.

It is fair to say I am very pleased with the progress Ed has made in the last couple of months and I am confident he will go on to make more improvements in the future.

Here is an example of a new workout Ed has picked up recently. A bicep curl and battle rope superset performed with good intensity down to the last second!

Kettle bell swings: this is the foundation of most kettle bell movements and is one of my favourite functional training exercises. The key is to summon the power from your legs and let the momentum drive the kettle bell upwards without using so much of your upper body. Squeeze your flutes at the top of the movement for maximum effectiveness.
