Over the last 18 months 4 badminton enthusiasts have been striving hard in pursuit of a shared vision - to create a home for Badminton in the North East. has been formed as a ‘NOT FOR PROFIT’, Community Interest Company (CiC) and is here solely to serve the Badminton community, all day, every day and all the year round. With the help of Newcastle City Council, we have identified a building with a 25 year lease which can be adapted and expanded. Located in Slatyford, the building has 3 good courts and excellent ancillary facilities, including reception, changing rooms, cafeteria and on-site parking. We have secured a substantial grant from BADMINTON England, the largest awarded for such a venture. This has been matched by private investment and, supported by Northumberland Badminton Association and Newcastle City Council, we are on the brink of turning the vision into reality. Where we are now
With all your fantastic support we now have high quality badminton facilities which include 9 badminton courts built to international specification, 3 based in the existing building along with 6 courts in a new hall specifically built for badminton.
