The NUMHC is an elite club at Newcastle University and also a member of the Performance Sport Programme. Together with the Ladies club it is the biggest mixed gendered sports club at Newcastle. We have 4 teams that compete on a Wednesday, in the BUCS University leagues and on a Saturday, in the NHL and NEHL. We play from September to April therefore leaving you plenty of time come summer term to r
evise for those final exams. Hockey is the main focus of the club, but also has a very enjoyable social side. Members have the opportunity to meet and socialise with new people, that share a similar love of the game. There’s no better way to find some lifelong friends than here! Even though Wednesday are the big sporting and social occasion of everyone's week, there are certain events throughout the year that stand out including;
+ The Annual Hockey Ball - This Black tie event sees us join our compatriots in the Ladies Hockey Club for a night of unrivalled sophistication.
+ Club Day - Alumni of both the Men’s and Ladies clubs are invited back up to ‘The Fortress’ at Longbenton for a day of small sided mixed hockey games and a BBQ
