Heaton Stan D-D Whitley bay

What was always going to be a tricky game with the winds picking up. So was a game of 2 halves.

Whitley started well getting on top with the ball but the lads grew into the game and started moving the ball around.
A lovely goal from Theo spotting the keeper off his line and putting the ball over his head to set us off. Another couple chances coming just not being able to capitalise. Just before the half Sonny does what Sonny does went on a mazy run through 3 players then around the goal keeper to put into an empty net.

Playing against the wind in the second half we knew was going to be tough. And Whitley kept the pressure up and pressure paid off with 2 goals to make a last nervy 3 minutes. But it was the Stan who could have won it with James shot just the wrong side of the post.

Well done both teams.

With 7 players available what an effort by everyone single one of them.
Scorching heat I couldn’t ask for any more.

Finished 2nd in group on goal difference. Progressed through the champions league group all the way to the final.
To get beat on pens which is never nice way to get beat but couldn’t be prouder of the lads.

Well done to all involved. Parents and supporters.
