KNOCKOUTS FINALS DAY- SUNDAY 20TH SEPTEMBER

One of our biggest weekends of the year is here!

Come down to the club this Sunday and watch our Knockout Finals unfold. Spectators are welcome, if you would like to watch some competitive golf, the tee times start from 8:20am.

We also have a special offer from 12pm - 2pm where you will be able to enjoy a pie & pint or pie & 125ml glass of Chardonnay for just £7.00!

A fantastic day was enjoyed by all last Sunday as we opened our doors from 3pm to celebrate City Fest! Despite a few spells of rain, the weather did not dampen the mood and there was a brilliant atmosphere throughout the afternoon. Guests were able to relax and enjoy a selection of tunes from DJ Eddie, before Jess Shord brought the celebration to a close with an excellent live performance.

The BBQ proved to be extremely popular throughout the afternoon, with plenty of people stopping by for something to eat – so much so that we completely sold out!

There was also plenty of enthusiasm for our Captains’ charity putt competition. Even with the occasional shower, participants were keen to take on the challenge to help raise money for a great cause. We are delighted to announce that the competition and raffle raised an impressive £140.42 for the Captains’ charity.

A huge thank you goes to everyone who took part and contributed.
As part of our City Fest celebrations, we also held a separate competition which added another fun element to the day. It was great to see so many people getting involved.

A special thank you goes to Graham Shord and the House Subcommittee, as well as Tom and his bar team, Glenn and his kitchen team, and Craig and his greens team. Their hard work and support helped make the day such a success.

On Sunday 30th August 2026 from 3pm-10pm we are calling all members, social members and our local community to join us this Bank Holiday weekend for CITY FEST!

We have a fantastic afternoon and evening lined up:
DJ - 3pm to 6pm
BBQ - 4pm to 7pm
Live Music from Jess Shord - 7pm to 9pm

A fantastic £1,303.70 has been raised for Motor Neurone Disease through donations from Lady President’s Day, along with proceeds from the charity raffle.

Anna would like to thank everyone who kindly donated and supported her chosen charity. Anna met with Colin Hardy from the MND Support Northumberland Group and handed the cheque over to him.

Thank you to everyone who helped us raise such a great amount for a very worthwhile cause.

Congratulations to Rod Hall who won the 60 yard challenge knockout in the evening, following the Club Championship presentation and celebrations 🏌️‍♂️

Congratulations to Phil Ridden on winning his record breaking 11th City Men’s Club Championship on Saturday with rounds of 70 - 66 = 136 ⛳️

We also congratulate 16 year old Will Handyside who finished 2 shots behind with fine rounds of 68 - 70 = 138.

The title was in the balance as the final group played the 36th hole in front of a packed clubhouse in glorious sunshine, following Will’s eagle at the 17th against Phil’s par. Phil clinched victory though with a birdie putt after Will narrowly missed his own birdie chance.

Phil was presented with the cup on the 18th green by Men’s Captain Ken Cairns.
