What is The Demand More Club?

It’s a brotherhood of men coming together to reach their full potential and Demand More from themselves.

A community where men who want to have impact in the world come together to grow, become role models and achieve a clearer direction for their lives.

Which means they will have more impact on the world and ultimately leave a legacy both personally and professionally.

This is achieved through a holistic approach with three areas of focus:

2️⃣ Achieving a sharp focus
3️⃣ Gaining clear direction in life

In the first year of covid I had a lot going on.

I was trying to grow a new business online, move to a different city, buy a house and as if that wasn’t enough, get married too.

Oh, and add the fact that covid made things twice as hard 😅

Any one of those things in itself requires a lot of energy and work.

But I put most of my physical and mental energy into the business.

I ended up stressed out to the max, trying to just push it away and forget about it.

Like a typical man, telling myself I could handle it all like I was some sort of superhero.

The problem is that all of that stress and overwhelm actually just led to a lot of procrastination and inaction.

Which led to more stress and overwhelm.

I couldn’t even make the simplest of decisions.

My wife ended up doing everything.

I’ve learned many tools, strategies and systems to utilise now to deal with stress and overwhelm which I teach inside The Demand More Club…

But the thing that changed everything was first a realisation.

Stress is a perception.

Two people can be in the same scenario and one be highly stressed while the other is chilled.

This was an important realisation for me because it meant that I could actually change things.

It smashed through my limiting belief that I was just going through a stressful period and all the stress would go once everything was over (it didn’t by the way).

It was only once that lesson sunk in that I was able to then utilise the tools, strategies and systems in my life to manage stress better.

You are not born with or without self-discipline.

It’s a skill which means it can be learned.

The best way to learn to be disciplined when you feel you don’t have any, is to get into a community of like-minded people…

And hold yourself accountable to them 👊🏻

Do you have an understanding of the direction you want your life to go in…

But a frustration with your current results?

Maybe you have one or two areas in your life going well but then others that could really be improved.

Maybe you just want clarity, focus and a clear direction that helps you stay focused even during setbacks and challenges.

Ultimately, you want to reach your full potential.

Generally, the problem is you’ve not been properly intentional about your vision.

It’s just something you’ve thought about or perhaps have just followed society’s rules.

What you need to do is carve out some time with a pen and paper and write down what you want from each area of your life.

Getting intentional will allow you to start to improve those areas that are currently lacking.

It’ll give you more inspiration, clarity and direction.

Leaving things to chance will only give us the constant feeling like something is missing and ultimately like we’re failing.

We have a plan to follow.

This helps us navigate the decisions we have to make…

Which means we take the right actions to achieve our full potential in life.

Because we have more direction, can make decisions easier and have a clear plan…

We have no overwhelm.

What does it mean to live The Demand More Way?

It means that we lead ourselves first in order to be a role model to the most important people around us.

It’s a realisation that everything in our life grows out from us.

If we are thriving, growing and being a role model, then we have a bigger impact on those around us and in the wider world.

It’s also an understanding that we can only achieve our full potential as a man if we are looking at our lives holistically.

That’s why living The Demand More Way consists of three pillars of success…

1️⃣ Body - Building a strong physique
2️⃣ Mind - Achieving a sharp focus
3️⃣ Life - Having a clear direction

When we are working on each of these simultaneously, we are stepping into the man we know we can be.

And achieving the RIGHT life balance for us and our families.

As men, we need to stop just letting life pass us by.

We need to start being more intentional and more of an active participan in our own lives.

As an purpose driven man, it’s so easy to be one dimensional.

What I mean by that is we only focus on one thing at a time.

Often it ends up being a focus on work or business because we’re trying to grow it and have more impact.

Which can mean we drop the ball on family, friends and having fun…

Not living up to the role model we want to be throughout the different areas of our lives.

This was the realisation I had yesterday while on a call with clients.

We were having a chat about what The Demand More Club is…

We discussed how it’s about being the role model in the different areas of our lives that are important to us.

Which starts with working on ourselves physically, mentally and spiritually.

It was a good reminder to me to be more intentional again.

You see, I’m trying to build out a social enterprise as well as grow The Demand More Club in order to advocate for men in the North East.

So I became one dimensional again.

Got sucked into putting all my mental and physical energy into the businesses.

Instead, I’ll change this by revisiting my intentions and goals around business, family, friends and life in general.

Being one dimensional limits the impact you can have on everyone and everything that is important to you.

Many people who have a great impact on the community end up burnt out.

That can take many different forms.

Maybe they get ill or even chronically ill.

Maybe their mental health declines.

Maybe they just lose all energy and zest for life.

This is because we have to use a lot of our time, energy and emotions on others.

But we have no way to then handle our own.

And then our families suffer because we just have nothing left.

The only answer here is to manage your energy and emotions with better strategies.

One of the most important aspects of that is REST.

Do things you enjoy, you find fun and have a laugh.

Joy is healing for everything.

Do not underestimate this OR feel bad for resting.

Understand that when we come from a place of rest, everyone both personally and professionally gets a better version of us.

Having or working for a purpose led business can be stressful and emotional.

There can be huge highs and huge lows, it’s the nature of what we do.

You see, as leaders who want to make an impact on the world, we naturally put others first.

We put all of our physical, mental and emotional energy into everyone else.

Because that’s what we should do, right?

I don’t disagree but what I would say is that it shouldn’t be at the expense of our health, families and community.

From coaching countless people and from my own journey over the last 8+ years, I know that if we continue on this path it ends in burnout, illness and chronic stress.

Then, what good are we to anyone?

What we need to do instead is be the leader of our own life first.

Look after our physical & mental health so that we can be present for our families…

Giving us energy for everything else that is important to us and helps us contribute to the community outside of work/business.

This not only means you become an incredible role model for your family while having more physical and emotional energy for them…

It means that the people you impact on a daily basis get a better version of you too.

And therefore you create an even greater impact on the world.
