We have four senior men’s teams.

With 125 years of history and in the heart of Jesmond, Newcastle Cricket Club provides a friendly welcome 364 days of the year. Through our partnership with the Royal Grammar School, the club is open to all in the community who want to watch or participate in sport. Following our recent £140k refurbishment we offer activities to all ages genders and abilities whether you’re interested in playing

cricket, disability activities, relaxing in our pavilion bar, celebrating a wedding or just wanting to sit in the sun and watch a bit of cricket. Our first, second and third teams who play in the North East Premier League as well as a mid-week C Division team playing in the Northumberland League. Training:
-Tuesdays from 6pm- 1st and 2nd XI training
-Thursdays from 6pm- Full club training


WOMEN’S SENIORS
We are delighted to offer two ways to become involved in women’s cricket:
-Weekly workout on Wednesday evenings- all welcome, no experience necessary!
6:30-8:00 at the Jesmond Cricket Ground
-Our development squad plays 8-a-side matches in the Northumberland

Women’s Development League. If you’re age between 14 and 104, you’re very welcome to get involved. Training nights take place from 6.30 till 8pm (weather permitting). THE WASPS- Newcastle Cricket Club Juniors
The WASPS provide youngsters the opportunity for youngsters to get involved in crickets on both a competitive and recreational level:
-Junior Training – every Friday evening, 6.30 till 8pm throughout the season from April through till September for ages 7 to 15. All abilities welcome, no experience required.
-Competitive Cricket – we have five teams for both boys and girls who play within the Northumberland League championship for under 13s. For more information, contact us at [email protected]


ROOM HIRE
The newly refurbished Pavilion offers a unique venue at a remarkably reasonable rate. It’s the perfect venue for your event, all year round. Including:

The Women’s 1sts brought the curtain down on a successful season on Sunday afternoon at Jesmond with a convincing victory over Alnmouth and Lesbury.

Bowling first, Newcastle put in an almost perfect performance in the field. The bowling was tight and the fielding faultless, with five catches taken and none dropped. Skipper Elloise Stephenson led from the front with three wickets. She was joined by Ruth Gibson who took an incredible 3-0 as the visitors were dismissed for just 49.

The run chase wasn’t quite as convincing. We managed to lose five wickets (including three ducks) on our way to reaching the target but Stephenson played a captain’s knock, batting through the innings to guide her side home.

The win means we finished in 2nd place in the Premier Division to round off a season to be proud of.

Meanwhile, the softball team were also in action at a festival at Backworth. It was a wonderful afternoon on a perfect day to play cricket. We won two and lost one and were on fire in the first match. You could see so much improvement and increased confidence. Roll on next summer!

It was a damp end to the season for the juniors this morning. The U13s travelled to Tynemouth where they dismissed the hosts for 120 and were well placed on 37-1 from 6 overs when the rain came.

All other junior games had already been cancelled because our opponents couldn’t field a team so we attempted an intrasquad U11/U13 match at Jesmond. We got started but unfortunately had to abandon proceedings before the end of the first innings.
