Home of the North East Giants Youth (u17) and Junior (u19) teams. Working in partnership with Northumberland Vikings. The "North East Academy of American Football" (NEAAF) is aimed at improving access to American Football for young participants in the North East of England. The project aims to provide a sustainable and progressive youth system for participants aged 19 and under.

🏈 U16 Tournament MVPs | 30th May

Before our U19s took to the field, our U16s battled through two games in challenging conditions with a squad of just 10 players.

For a young team, with many players appearing in only their first or second contact football games, the determination, grit, and desire shown throughout the day was outstanding. Every player contributed with big moments and plays against experienced opposition, making us proud of the entire squad.

Overall MVP - Peter Morgan
Peter entered the tournament as a team captain, a role earned through his commitment and effort both at training and within the team. On game day, he once again led by example, setting the standard on both sides of the ball. His relentless effort, leadership, and all-round performance made him a deserving Overall MVP.

Offensive MVP - Gael Salayandia
Making his first contact start at quarterback, Gael showed impressive composure throughout the day. Calm, confident, and unfazed by the occasion, he helped guide the offence and keep the ball moving against tough opposition.

Defensive MVPs - Ryo Endo & Oisin Egan
A shared defensive award for two players who were outstanding throughout the tournament. Both Ryo and Oisin made their presence felt with big hits, crucial stops, and consistent defensive performances across both games.

Congratulations to all our MVPs, and to every player who represented the Giants with pride, effort, and determination throughout the day. The future is bright for this group 🏈

U19 MVPs vs Yorkshire Assassins - 30th May

A hard-fought 16-16 draw in Game 2 of the series saw both teams continue the battle, with plenty of standout performances across the field.

Overall MVP – Ellis Dudman
A constant source of stability and leadership throughout the game. Ellis leads by example every snap, doing whatever is needed for the team and setting the standard with his effort, attitude, and commitment.

Offensive MVP – Kody Giroux
A fantastic day on the ground from Kody, who ran the ball with purpose and intensity. His energy, desire, and relentless effort consistently lift and motivate those around him.

Defensive MVP – Matty Morgan
Matty stepped up to help lead and organise the defence, delivering a game-changing performance at linebacker. He was all over the field, making plays and impacting the game from start to finish.

Congratulations to all three players on their well-deserved awards!

🏈 RESULTS - GIANTS GAME DAY 🏈

U16 Giants 6 - 39 Buccaneers

U19 Giants 16 - 16 Assassins

A tough but hugely valuable day for our U16s, who battled through two games in challenging conditions with a squad of just 10 players. For many, it was only their first or second experience of competitive football, and the determination, effort and team spirit shown throughout the day made everyone at the club proud.

Our U19s remain unbeaten after another hard-fought draw with the Yorkshire Assassins. The second game of this four-game series was every bit as competitive as the first, leaving everything still to play for as we head into the second half of the season.

A huge thank you to all the parents, supporters, volunteers and officials who helped make the day possible. Your support means everything to our players.

We'll rest, recover, and get back to work.

June is here and we've got a busy month ahead for our youth & junior programmes!

REBELS FLAG FOOTBALL (U11 & U14)
Our Rebels have a busy month, with two away game days in June. There will be no training on those weekends, but we'll be back on the field as usual for the rest of the month.
We're continuing to welcome new players aged 7-14, so if you've ever wanted to give American Football a try, now is the perfect time!

We're actively recruiting and looking to strengthen both our U16 (ages 13-16) and U19 (ages 16-19) squads. Whether you've played before or are completely new to the sport, we'd love to hear from you.

🚨 REFEREES & VOLUNTEERS NEEDED 🚨

Next Saturday, 30th May, both our Giants U16 & U19 teams are in action at Druid Park for a full day of football and we can’t wait! 💪🏈

Unfortunately, we’ve been informed that BAFRA are unable to staff the event, meaning we are required to self-officiate in line with league rules.

We’re once again reaching out to our amazing community for support.

Referees must be L1 qualified
Referee roles are paid
Other game day volunteer roles are also available
