Our first event under the banner of Oceans Connected! Our Big Sea Survey volunteers helped us to gather rocky shore data and to hunt out some of the most charismatic species on the shore. We even found the stalked jellyfish, which have only been found in Beadnell so far on the North East coast. Our 'twins' at the Sapphire Coast, Australia, also ran a simultaneous event.

hello Big Sea Surveyors, Nova here hijacking the account whilst Heather gives her scientific highlights seminar at the celebration event, just wanted to say that all 374 of you should be immensely proud of the whopping 134,590 data points you collected, a fantastic resource and baseline from which to measure future change to shores in the northeast & compare to other regions of the UK. Great work guys!
