1st week back at our Sky & Earth provision ending in style.
Good training,
Campfire stuffed peppers for dinner.
Foraging wild apple, plum, blackberry and other wild edibles.
Then a little bit of Owl work.

Beauty in the feathers. Blood on the beak. Wildness in the soul. She was never meant to be tame.

What’s brilliant first day back but on the sad side that one of our lads signed the wall of fame to move on to new fishing ponds.

First session out for the falcons working on glove and lure work. Not long though until that creance comes off

Then to finish the day off with a good campfire cook up.

It feels good to be back

Totally excited to get started with the new school year tomorrow.

Did you know we also operate as an Alternative Education Provision?

Have a look at our other page below.

The 1st September

There’s something about this day I wait for all year.

Summer slowly begins to loosen its grip.
The evenings draw in, the air feels different, and the first hints of orange, red and gold begin to creep through the trees.

The fields start to die back.
The mornings become cooler.
The birds are coming to the end of their moult.

Nature seems to be quietly telling us that it’s time.

Time to dust off the gloves, bring out the lures and begin again.

The training starts.
The fitness builds.
And before long, the skies and fields become our classroom once more.

There’ll be cold hands, muddy boots and dark journeys home. Days when the wind cuts through you and you return exhausted, wet and covered in mud.

But then there are those moments…

Standing silently in an autumn field, watching a bird climb into a cold blue sky before folding its wings and committing to the flight.

Those few seconds make every cold morning, every muddy mile and every long summer waiting worthwhile.

Some people mourn the end of summer.

I wait for it.

Because for me, 1st September isn’t the end of something.

It’s the beginning.
