April/May Update:
The last month has been full steam ahead with the Citroen project, complete gearbox rebuild with the gripper differential & paddle clutch kit installed. The aftermarket cams are now in which allowed me to eventually get the engine and box back in place.
Then found time to fit the highly recommended satchshift kit, very fiddly job and still needs setting up fully but looking forward to see what it’s like!
A couple of other miscellaneous jobs completed along the way, fuel lines, polybushes, front to rear brake lines and countless hours trying to figure out French electrics!
Early in April we were out on Whickham District Motor Clubs Shaw Trophy Targa in the Puma. Sitting along side this time was new navigator Alex who was absolutely brilliant all day! We started the day well but unfortunately burst a brake cylinder very early on in test 2. After returning to base we managed to clamp the pipe meaning we only had 3 corners braking and no handbrake for the remainder of the day. Challenge!
Despite this minor mechanical issue we seemed to go well the rest of the day! Managing to finish the day 9th O/A and 1st in class.
Thanks to all the organisers and Marshals that make the events possible. Without these people dedicating their time to helping out, motorsport would not be possible.
