Meet Callum Ho — Your New FF Liaison

Hello FF members,

You may have already seen Callum around the gym over the last couple of weeks helping members, chatting on the gym floor, and probably smiling unless someone has left their weights unracked. 🏋️💪

Callum is our new Member Liaison 👨‍💼

His role is:

To help make FF a gym community. A gym where you feel welcomed, challenged, and part of something. Not a clinical, boring gym setting 😴.

Although he cannot promise you will enjoy walking down the stairs after a brutal leg day. 🦵🦿

Callum has been in and around fitness since the age of 11, starting with martial arts before becoming a junior instructor. Since then, he has coached through air cadets, school sport, basketball, bodybuilding, powerlifting, powerbuilding, calisthenics, and rock climbing on the weekends.

His current lifts include:

Squat: 220kg
Bench: 120kg
Deadlift: 240kg
Total: 580kg

Yes, he knows his way around a barbell. (Show off 🏆🤩)

You will find him on the gym floor helping with:

New member inductions
Equipment guidance
Goal setting
Technique support
Connecting members with PTs, classes, physios, and like-minded people
Feedback, suggestions, and general questions about the gym

Think of him as the bridge between you and the gym.

Important 🚨‼️
Don’t forget all members receive a free PT session every 4/6 weeks. So don’t be shy in reaching out to Callum.

You will sit down, talk through your goals, understand your “why”, and map out the next step properly.

Life’s too short to be permanently washing gym leggings.

Social media is sh*t hot on trends.
Run clubs. Hyrox. Ice baths. Pilates. Skin care. Coffee clubs. Recovery walks.

Some are good fun and some are lovely different experiences.

But social media has a way of turning experiences into pressure.
Pressure to keep up, join in and not fall behind.

This is where FOMO starts.

Think about the brands people thought would last forever.
Woolworths. Toys R Us. Debenham’s. Blockbuster. Mothercare.

Huge names.
Untouchable, supposedly.

They all disappeared.
And they weren’t even trends!!!!!!!

So why do we act like every new fitness wave deserves control over our thoughts, routines and self-worth?

Lift weights.
Walk.
Eat well.

The basics never stopped working.
They just don’t get posted about as much.

WEEKENDS 🎉 🥳

The ‘return your weights back to the rack’ fairy has been in this morning tidying up!

We all love chilling out at the weekend, but please could everyone return weighs to racks and unrack machines.

It would be a huge help to all members.

We are hiring. The wonderful Max is moving into a slightly different career. Still coaching, but this time children and sport. It is a wonderful opportunity for him in the next steps in his career. I hope you can join us in wishing him every success with his new job.

But.

What this does mean is we have a vacancy at HQ.

20 hours per week.
Monday – Friday 4-8pm
£13.50ph
Start date Monday 6th April

The role is a proper hybrid role:
Gym inductions
Training Plans
Customer Service
Assisting with sales
Generally, just representing FF with a giant smile on your face and positivity.
Assisting with social media

You don’t need to be a qualified personal trainer to apply. It will be helpful if you have a sporting background (PT, studying or studied Sport Science etc, play sport at a reasonable level, physique development to an above average standard).

The successful candidate can also Personal Train clients outside of their employed hours – a great opportunity for any aspiring or semi established PT.

Usually when we say we have a job vacancy it gets a lot of attention. Please please do not take it personally if you are unsuccessful. With it being a hybrid role, the successful candidate must demonstrate fantastic skills across multiple disciplines. It’s a tricky one.

Sliding Doors Pt 2: The “Evolution” Perspective

“I thought FF was only for bodybuilders.” ❌

We hear it A Lot. But look at Mick.

At 50+, he didn’t to us to step on a stage in a thong (well not that he admitted anyway), he came to us to get his life back.

In just 3.5 months of targeted strength training, he’s achieved what most people think is “just part of getting older”.

✅ Zero pain: Strength training is the best medicine for knees and backs.

✅ Total mobility: Sprinting up the stairs with shopping bags

✅ Internal Health: Better blood markers, better heart health, better future.
