BRCA Nationals 2026 is complete
What a season!!!!
Batley crew put on an amazing final round to top off the most competitive and fun series to date.
The weather certainly put a spanner in the works....
2wd a damp start with showers through the day would see me get the worst fo the luck being in the top heat losing rounds 2 and 3 with rain coming as we went on track.
An average 16 in round 1 would see me needing a single digit score in round 4 to make the B final which was the only wet round for everyone my was amazing and my power and brakes in the wet condtions were π a 9 in round would see me 19th over all
The final was one of the best races I have been in making places up to 3rd and having to sit behind the widest car known to man (thanks Aaron π
) for about 3 minutes with a train of cars behind and a fast approaching Thomposn approaching every lap. With 1 lap to go I had to run wide to avoid said widest car ever allowing Thompson to make his move. Great pass you owe me a belt for my shorts..... I then got beached on a pipe losing 2 more spots to come home in 7th.
Gifted Thompson the victory in the all important chopper championship π€¦ββοΈ
4wd was much of the same a wet start then dried then wet again had everyone scrambling around.
A shocking round 1 followed by an 11 in round 2 and a 10 in round 3 times were so tight that 10th quick in round 3 would have seen me get an 8 π΅βπ« my was outstanding on the super high grip bumpy track.
All to play for in round 4 on a drying track would see me with a chance to make the main with single digit score unfortunatly i was collected by a rejoining car early on putting pave to that would see me wjth another 10 in round lining me up 4th in the B 1 place behind you know who Thompson π«
A mistake in lap 1 killed my final stuck at it with a rapid XB4 i managed to make places back up to finish 6th unfortunatly Thomposn would take the win and the chopper championship. Well done mate great to be racing so close all season but be prepared that you'll have to do your own set up homework next year as im taking seriously now π
π
All in all im super proud of my best National results to date litterally 10ths of seconds away from that first A final π€
Overall
2wd = 16th
4wd = 18th
First time in the top 20 in either class
This would see me finish 3rd in both 2wd and 4wd behind team mates Lee Martin RC and Matt Thompson RC in the V40s
The team has been amazing all season laugh a minute with some amazing π΅ to go with it. My most fun national series to date.
Massive massive shout out to Ben Smith RC for taking home both 2wd and 4wd national titles, you and Simon Smith deserve it and genuinely 2 of the nicest people you will meet. π
To Daniel Pole RC for taking his first National win πͺ first of many im sure.
To Team Stephenson RC Louie being my favourite driver at the races π
Some time to relax before deciding what indoor racing I will be doing this year.
Huge thank you to these guys below for helping with everything you do to help this old fella go racing.
