Audley Sundays 2-3 Wedgwood

Took the lead after Billy headed home from Frank’s corner. Wedgwood equalised from a corner of their own and it stayed that way until half time.

We went down to 10 men after Ben received a second yellow for a poor tackle, head up Kempy. We regained the league when Splint’s free kick was parried to Kinny, his attempt was saved and Frank put the rebound in. Should’ve seen the game out from here, but we couldn’t clear our lines from a throw, which saw them equalise. They then went on to grab the winner in added time.

Not ruthless enough in front of goal again and some ill discipline cost us.

Audley Sundays 2-0 Bramshall

Through to the next round of the Sentinel Sunday Cup after a good performance this morning.

Could’ve been a lot more if we’d took our chances, but we got the job done.

Curley opened the scoring, finally beating the offside trap and slotting one into the bottom corner. We carried that lead into the break.

Billy won a pen after fouling their centre half, interesting decision. Mitch took it and it was saved by the keeper, cheers Blaisey.

Splint doubled our lead with a lovely whipped strike into the far corner. It stayed that way until the final whistle.

Special mentions:

Crock of Sh*te Harley - absolutely stinking first half cameo, tripped over his own feet chasing the ball. Subbed himself off after about 20 minutes after not completing a pass. Nice Jamie

Gates - no show from Ginge this morning, not heard from him all day either. Grow up Ethan

Audley Sundays 2-2 Red Cow
Red Cow win 5-4 on penalties

First 40 minutes we were by far the better side, from then onwards we were nowhere near good enough. 2-0 up at half time, should’ve put the game to bed from there

Lapses in concentration cost us in the second half, allowing them to draw level. We missed some good chances from set pieces, and things ended level.

Billy had his pen saved and Danny dragged his wide. Our county cup curse continues.

Audley Sundays 3-2 FC Newcastle Borough

Not our finest performance, but it’s another 3 points on the board.

We started off slowly, trying the tougher passes rather than keeping it simple. But eventually took the lead after Lancett was brought down in the box, Billy tucked the penalty away nicely. They equalised after a long ball from their keeper ran through to Big Joe, sadly we couldn’t get a wet sentinel under him and their onrushing striker managed to nod in an equaliser.

Second half went similar to the first, we weren’t great and we won a penalty, this time through Danny. However Billy’s effort was saved by their keeper. Managed to take the lead through a Danny header from a Billy corner though, and whilst we still weren’t playing at our best, we didn’t look troubled. Until their lad found himself in some space, fired one at Big Joe and he parried it into the net. They went down to 10 men and we tried to keep piling the pressure on, Lancett managed to win a free kick on the edge of the box. Last minute of the game and Billy dispatched it into the bottom corner to get us over the line. Pulled himself and Big Joe out the s**t.

Special mentions:

Only one for this week, their number 19, Jesus wept. Serious gob on him, did a foul throw, gave away both pens and then got sent off. Might have get him on a form, as he was our best player today.

Audley Sundays 4-0 Loggerheads

Another three points on the board for the lads.

Solid all over the pitch today, not a man below a 7/10, including the subs. We knew we’d be in for a tough test, as these have been in and out of the Prem over the last few seasons.

They started off well and made things awkward for us, especially their 9 foot right winger who Kinny has the pleasure of marking. Kin did well against him tbf, few free kicks given away, but that’s trademark Kinpo.

We managed to take the leader after Brad went on a marauding run forward, whipped a good ball in that caused some confusion. Curley managed to retrieve it, found Matty who slotted home. Matty then turned provider, finding Cal on the edge of the box to make it 2-0.

Second half we actually stuck to the plan for once, kept them quiet early on and stayed disciplined. Lancett replaced Curley, and added a brace to put us clear and round off a high quality performance.

Special mentions:

Broughy - Assistant Coach Brough had a cracking voice break on the sidelines today, went higher pitched than a 9 year old girl.

Crock of Sh*te Harley - despite his love for the Parish Reds, young Jambo didn’t realise putting a thumb in the chat means you’ve made yourself available. £5 please

Curley - got t-boned by their centre back first half, punched in the head second half. Then got subbed and wasn’t best pleased. Conveniently stuck an ice pack on his head seconds after his replacement Lancett scored. Nice Curl
