The initial deadline for applications to hire facilities for our next hire period August 2026 till July 2027 is this Sunday 21st June. Any existing hirers who wish to apply for their previous slots please return the forms as soon as possible. Any new hire enquiries please contact [email protected] or call 01782 254300 for details.
After this date any times not applied for including previous slots will be made available for hire by new applicants.

Due to the ongoing issue with the power at the sports centre and college we are still unable to open the centre.Currently the issue will take longer to repair than expected. Unfortunately this means that we are having to remain closed for the rest of today and evening. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

NSCG have made the decision to close the Gordon Banks Sports Centre to all members of Public tomorrow on Friday 9th of January 2026 due to the Storm. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding. Thank you GBSC Team

Due to the amber weather forecast linked to the incoming Storm Goretti, we are making the following changes to campus operations for the remainder of the week, to prioritise the safety of staff and students.

The main Newcastle campus and Gordon Banks Sports centre will close at 5.00pm today to allow staff and students time to travel home safely.

📚 Adult classes and welcome events scheduled for this evening have been cancelled.

In line with the rest of the college site we are returning to normal operations today in the Fitness Suite and Dance Studio.
The 3G is currently out of action and we hope to reopen it as soon as possible.
Due to exams taking place in the Sports Hall this week it is currently unavailable for hire.
Thank you for your patience and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to The Sports Centre today.

Due to the current weather conditions and forecast for more snow later this evening the management team of the college have taken the decision to close on Health and Safety grounds.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
The sports centre will reopen tomorrow from 7:00am.

Due to an open evening at the college on Wednesday 12th November the car parks and approach roads to the centre may be busier than usual. The open evening is due to run from 17:30-20:00. Therefore we do advise any users of the centre to allow extra time to reach us.
