Match report 📄

Vale Hoppers 0 - 7 Newcastle Mona

They were on top for the first 15 minutes but Bill put Linc in behind and he smashed it in and it was one way traffic after that. Al’s deflected shot looped in and Gilly scored a tap in. Bill told everyone to stop moaning at the ref which resulted in him being sent to the sin bin.

Lloydy managed to keep a set piece in play for once which Bill headed in. Its not fair that we can go 4-0 up and bring on JK9. There was a vets game on the pitch next to us and it was a lot more entertaining so I didn’t see JK9s hat trick. One of them the ref gave us one of the softest penalties you’ve ever seen and I definitely didn’t see a Mort assist.

We cleared the ball to Linc who tried run down the line but ran into his own leg and fell over. Wasn't a Vale Hoppers player within 5 yards of him and the ref gave us a free kick. 27 goals scored in the 3 games, 27 shouts of 'get round him' from Bogdan. Well deserved big mans all round. The chip butties put on after the game made the trip to Congleton worthwhile.

MOTM - JK9
DOTD - A Lloyd bailing to buy Glasto tickets.

Match Report 📄

FC Newcastle Borough 2 - 7 Newcastle Mona

Challenge cup action against Div 1 Newcastle Borough. New signing Ollie Bourne puts pen to paper and relinks up with his old primary school pal Johnny Jenko.

Gilly wears his headband like Gervinho but bagged himself a hattrick. A Cotty header and Billy made 4 tackles and poked one in to make it 5-0 at half time. We created a load of chances but Noah missed them all.

A few changes in the second half but we stayed on top. Draycott found himself inside the box and found the back of the net to push JK9 further down the pecking order. Al scuffed one in the bottom corner to make it 7-0.

Ex Wood Lane man Snapper called up to the starting 11 and it’s that bit of Prem quality that we have been missing the last couple of weeks. Took a repulsive first touch in our 6 yard box and their striker tapped it in to the empty net. Horrible little Barry Bannan of a man.

MOTM - Gilly
DOTD - Noz

Late post from Sunday…

First half we went 2-0 up and were controlling the game comfortably. We then conceded before half time to a decent effort which got them back into the game.

Second half we were poor but still had our chances to go 3 or 4-1 up, hitting the bar and missing sitters. We managed to hang on but with a few minutes remaining, the ball got cleared to their center half at the edge of the box who took on his man and put it past Bogdan at his near post to equalise.

Looking to bounce back today in what we expect to be another tough game! 🟠⚫️
