POOL CLOSURE UPDATE

We are unfortunately having to close the pool for a little longer. After discussions with engineers regarding the boiler and the burner of the swimming pool, the earliest date that the engineers can get here from London is Monday 18th July. They will be here for two days and we envisage the pool will take a day to heat up to our usual operating temperature. Given this timeframe, we plan to reopen on Thursday 21st July 2022. Until this date, all sessions will be cancelled and removed from our website. When we do reopen, we will be following our school holiday timetable.

As we will have cancelled two weeks of swimming lessons, we are extending the term into the summer holidays. We will be holding group swimming lessons on week commencing 25th July and week commencing 1st August to compensate from the lessons missed this week and next week.

As we are having to accommodate for our swim school during the holidays, our timetable will have some changes. Please continue to book sessions on our website as this is the best way for customers to see which sessions are running and which ones have been cancelled.

The management committee and staff would like to take this opportunity to thanks customers for their continued support, and would like apologise for any inconvenience this closure has caused.

POOL CLOSURE

Due to ongoing boiler issues, we have taken the decision to close the swimming pool until Monday 11th July 2022. All general swims, adult swims, fun swims and swimming lessons are cancelled this week. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. We will keep you all updated via email and on social media with any changes.

Unfortunately we have had to close the pool today (Tuesday 5th July)due to water temperature issues so all sessions and lessons are cancelled. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

POOL CLOSURE (Tuesday 21st June)

Unfortunately the pool is closed today due to ongoing issues with the water temperature. We are waiting for engineers to rectify the issue and we hope to be open tomorrow. There will be no lessons this evening nor any general swims this afternoon or this evening. Sub aqua club will be on as normal at 8pm.

Swimming Lesson Viewing

For the new term beginning on Monday 25th April, we have decided to reopen the viewing area for parents/guardians of children who have lessons at the pool during our swim school hours (4-6pm Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and 5-6pm on Wednesdays). To avoid overcrowding, we have created a new booking system on our website for parents to book a slot to come and watch their child’s lesson.

Whether your child/children have group lessons, 1-2-1s, 2-2-1s or lessons with Liz, you will need to book on our website. Given that the Summer term is an 11 week term, everyone should have at least one opportunity to see their child/children swim. We ask that customers are considerate of others when booking and book one session at a time to ensure everyone has the chance to see their child swim. From the way the system has been set up, everyone should be able to watch their child at least once during the term.

In order to book, head to our website (www.swimemlyn.co.uk) and click on ‘Book your Swim’. The classes are listed by the instructors’ names, the day and time of the lesson. Then select the class that your child is in. If you have more than one child swimming at the same time, please only book onto one of the classes. If your child has 1-2-1s, 2-2-1s or lessons with Liz, there is a booking button for these.

When you arrive at the pool to view the lesson, please see the member of staff on reception so that they can check you in on the booking system.

If you are no longer able to make your viewing booking, please let us know (by email or give us a call) so we can cancel your slot and make it available for others.

Our community run pool is 25m x 8.4m.  Its depth is 1.07m in the shallow end, 1.57m at the far end, its deepest part being 1.98m which is situated 3/4 of the way up the pool from the shallow end.

POOL UPDATE 12/01/22

The gas supply issues have finally been resolved and we are pleased to announce that we will be reopening today (Wednesday 12/1/22) for all sessions and lessons.

We apologise once again for our delayed opening and thank customers for their understanding on this unfortunate occurrence.

POOL CLOSURE - ANOTHER UPDATE!

Calor Gas has been unable to deliver to the pool over the Christmas period despite having an automated delivery system which has left us without any gas and therefore unable to heat the pool water or the building. We have been waiting for a delivery since Sunday but have now been told as we are not vulnerable or a healthcare establishment, we may not get any gas until tomorrow (Tuesday 11th January) at the earliest. Over the last 24 hours the pool temperature has continued to drop and as we do not know when we will get a gas delivery and when we will be able to restart our boiler, we have to cancel all our sessions on Tuesday 11th January 2022, including our swimming lessons.

We apologise for this inconvenience and hope Calor Gas will deliver to us soon and we can reopen ASAP. We will keep you all updated on our reopening. We also appreciate your understanding on this matter as it is completely out of our control. Diolch, many thanks.

POOL CLOSURE

Unfortunately we will be not be able to reopen today as planned as we have had some gas supply issues which means the pool isn’t warm enough for lessons to take place today.

We hope to reopen on Tuesday with lessons continuing as normal from the. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

NEW COVID RESTRICTIONS JANUARY 2022/CYFYNGIADAU CORONAFEIRWS NEWYDD IONAWR 2022
Following the Welsh Government’s announcement in December 2021 making 2 metre social distancing a legal requirement from the 26th December 2021, our changing rooms will be closed until further notice. We will be returning to beach ready swimming with the bucket system back in place on pool side. We understand that this is not ideal given the weather conditions, however it is now a legal requirement to enforce 2 metre social distancing in all public premises, and this would not be possible given how small our changing rooms are.
The new rules will be as follows:
-Facemasks must be worn when in the building but not in the water
-Please arrive swim ready for your session which must be pre-booked
-Check in at reception and then make your way onto poolside
-Place your belongings in the bucket at one of the black and blue circles on the left side of the pool. A lifeguard will be there to guide you
-Go for a swim/attend your session
-Please return to your bucket and get dry/dressed on poolside
-Please then pick your bucket and walk around the deep end of the pool towards the emergency exit, where you will leave your bucket and exit the building via the emergency exit door
We will be enforcing these rules in order to protect our customers and our staff during these ever changing and difficult times.
