South Lakes walked up days. Catering for both walked up game shooting and those wanting the day focused on training their dogs.

I've had a few people messaging me over the last few weeks regarding days next season. Unfortunately the land owner has decided they don't want any shooting on the ground which is hugely disappointing however I completely respect their decision.

That said I am currently in early negotiations regarding some other land which is significantly larger with the added bonus of a longer contract. I am hopeful that we can agree terms soon.
Once I know any further I will post an update.

Great day out on our little shoot, just the 3 of us. Phoebe shot her 1st bird, retrieved by her lab Ted. Thanks to the beating team (Nicola and Delta) some mega birds that were to good for me. Saw plenty of Woodcock but only took 1 which was a screamer crossing at 50 or so yards from one of the woods, again retrieved by Ted.

Afternoon out putting some new feeders around the shoot. Good number of ducks on the pond now, loads of pheasants around...

Afternoon out putting some new feeders around the shoot. Good number of ducks on the pond now, loads of pheasants around and a nice covey of partridge. Feeders getting some hammer now.
Even took the new boy for a walk round the spot.
Excellent service from Countryside Feeders for my new feeders, really pleased with them and the service.

Amazing what all that hard work can lead to. Been feeding again and for a quick walk round with the dogs. Birds all over...

Well it's taken some time and a lot of patience but I finally have my own little shoot. This will be me doing things my way without anyone else getting in the way, causing issues, upset or headaches.
It's going to take a lot of effort and hard work but I know as a family we can do this.

Normally 5 weeks into our season by now but had to make do with some cold game training today. Hopefully some good news ...

Some major developments over the last week or so. We now have our own fantastic ground !

I've had the opportunity to take some ground nearby the existing ground and after discussions I will be setting up and running my own days.

This ground lends itself to walked up shooting with a variety of cover and some nice little valleys that should provide some nice high birds for something different.

Keeping the other ground for the driven days allows us both to concentrate on getting the best use out of each piece of ground.

Having my own ground is something I have wanted since starting shooting 20 years ago. It's going to be hard work but seeing the pheasants and rabbits already wandering about, it will hopefully be worth it.

There's still a couple of syndicate places available on the driven days if anyone's interested I can put you in touch.

Dates for walked up days will be out in the next week.
