The debate for and against Ebikes has been running for a while now.

My Fortnite playing gaming son has ridden a bike possibly 35 miles since this time last year.
However, he ‘a begging to go out on the demo ebike we have. 54 miles in the last 7 days.

So yes it is easier for him up the hills. It’s certainly not for me though 😱.
If Alf is now begging to ride his bike for 1hr30 on a Tuesday afternoon, what’s not to endorse?.

If you and your son, wife or daughter have the ability to ride with you on a long ride and enjoy riding with you. Then ebikes are the way forward I say. What a great leveller.

Sadly, it’s going to me needing the ebike with him before long I know 😱.

We are currently looking for a Workshop Manager/Senior Technician.

Is this you?

The ideal candidate will be a conscientious, hard working and dedicated individual who appreciates quality and attention to detail within a workshop environment
You will need to have a good technical and mechanical background in all current bikes and have a real passion for cycling and our clients pride and joy.

Have the ability to work in a time efficient manner on all bikes including all varieties with electronic transmissions, hydraulic brakes
Qualified to Cytech level 2 or 3 is preferred, although specific training in all areas will be provided to the successful candidate
Assembly and inspection of complete box and custom bikes, frame prep, wheel building(not essential)/truing, etc
Attention to detail and ability to problem solve issues
General IT competency

SALARY

We offer a competitive salary (dependant on experience) and benefits package.

HOURS

Full-Time: Five days per week to include Saturdays

HOLIDAY

28 days holiday including bank holidays.

Good morning.

These are such different and difficult times!!

With this in mind, Specialized Concept Store Newbury will be open today, this morning at least to enable our customers to pick up their service bikes and their new bikes that we have in stock that have ordered and paid for.

We are caught between not wanting to seem an irresponsible retailer, promoting social gatherings endangering more lives and the fact that WE ALL will need to exercise and get our endorphins stimulated during the nations much needed lockdown.

Please pass this on to anyone who as a vested interest in us being open for the very very short term.

PLEASE NOTE.. If you are coming to the store. We will only be able to serve one person at a time and will only allow one customer per staff member into our shops.

If our staff feel uncomfortable coming in or have a more essential key worker as a partner then they are not being forced to work, so we will be very short staffed for this morning. Please bare with us. We always have our customers best interest at heart. However, on this occasion, we feel the responsibility of this horrible situation is very serious.
