We welcomed Vinnie Nikolas Pearmine on the 27th October, a lot earlier than expected. After 10 days in hospital everyone is doing well at home now! We appreciate everyone’s generosity , we had so many lovely gifts and wishes ❤️. Emma is recovering well after a c section and will be looking to come back to work in the new year. If anyone wants programmes or online sessions then please message as she is doing this from now 👏🏼

Starting training again or for the first time
- Don’t go too hard, reduce frequency and intensity when getting back into it. You can end up having awful aches, injure yourself and generally feel demotivated by what your body is feeling. Give your body time to adapt and rest after sessions.
- Start with basic whole body movements. Don’t start doing anything fancy, your body just needs to move and have some weight put through it.
- Set or get yourself a programme from a professional to follow. If we have something to follow we are more likely to keep following it instead of making stuff up.
- Make sure you know the correct form and technique when performing exercises otherwise you could end up injured or not utilising the intended muscles efficiently.

GLUTE BRIDGE TOP TIPS
Keep your chin tucked in, this affects rest of your spine so affect lumbar and pelvic positioning

Pelvis should be in a posterior tilt (think about tucking hips under) this makes sure we don’t overextend lower back

Squeeze your bum at top of movement (imagine keeping a £50 note between your cheeks) if you can’t do this then drop the weight slightly!

Deadlift, post looking at the conventional deadlift set up. So many components of a deadlift this is just looking at the set up initially.
1. Feet about hip distance, middle of foot under bar. Squeeze shoulders back, bum sits just below shoulders, bar very close to leg.

Always progressing! Recently been working on more control through legs, being able to control deeper and generate more power. We started with a slam ball as a target (as it is heavy it won’t move around) but once we mastered this we’ve moved onto a roller which is much lower target and moves if hit too heavy. I find having a target is a great way to physically see your progress week by week but also means we can easily see if we are lacking any control once we reach the target as if hit too hard the roller will start to roll about or a slam ball would dent.
Also added in a shoulder press to give two things to think about so whilst still trying to control his legs he also has to think about controlling the shoulder press, a great way to get messages and relationships going through your body.
Rehab to me is a huge part of training having been through a lot of knee surgeries myself so I always find it so amazing to help others come back from something that has happened to them. Makes me extremely grateful for what I do every single day!

So so proud of my client!! We have been working together since the end of March 2/3 times a week, 30 mins at a time after he unfortunately had a stroke. He did amazing himself to bounce back but we have been working on balance, coordination, patterns of movement and strength in our sessions to get fluid messages across the body. Shown is the plank row which at the start was impossible on his knees to do more than 1 in 45 seconds but now we are on our toes and fluid with the movement!! Also get up from the bench one legged whilst catching and throwing a ball, balance on the bosu whilst slamming the ball to me and we are now working on mastering the TRX pistol squat!!
This has all been achieved through his hard work, determination, some say stubbornness 😂 and doing his homework! I am truly blessed to work with him and help him get back to fighting fit and such a huge reason to me why I love doing this everyday!
Remember success doesn’t always come in weight loss and big muscles, it comes in many ways!! .
