Newbury & Crookham Golf Club – Jack Hughes Club Championships

Congratulations to our winners at today’s Jack Hughes Club Championships.
• Overall Winner - Jack Hughes Trophy and Seniors Memorial Trophy – Chris Harrison with an outstanding score of 70 + 71 = 141.
• 2nd Place and 4–9 Salver Winner – Rob Low with an excellent 72 + 71 = 143.
• 10–18 Salver Winner – Tony Ruczynski with a hard-fought 75 + 83 = 158.

Well done to all competitors for making it another fantastic championship day. A full report, including photographs and more results, will follow in the coming days.

The final round of the 2025 Jack Hughes Club Championships is underway! Our Captain, Seif Morbi, has safely put one in play as the early starters head out — the battle for the title begins!

Day 1 of the Jack Hughes Club Championships delivered drama, tension, and some seriously sharp scoring.

Chris Harrison leads the way with a superb 70 (+1), holding a narrow 1-shot advantage heading into Sunday. He’ll be joined in the final group by Laurence Berry (+2) and Dave Gray (+3).

The race for the 4–9 Salver is wide open, with a pack of contenders lurking just below the leaders.

Meanwhile, in the 10–18 Salver, Tony Ruczynski set the pace with a 75 (+6), earning himself a 4-shot cushion, but in golf, nothing is certain until the final putt drops.

Watch as our Head Greenskeeper Chris Ball, Head Professional Barry Newman, General Manager Gareth Williams, and Course & Competitions Chairman Paul Walden take on the newly redesigned 7th hole for the very first time this morning.

The hole didn't take long to make its mark, with the stream claiming its first victim! We're excited to see the hole in action for tomorrow's competition and can't wait to see how it plays out!
