WE ARE DONE!!!
As the dust settles on an epic seven days at Station Road, we’ve been flat out delivering the biggest improvements to our Main Pitch in over six decades.
For many years we have dreamt of levelling our pitch, installing irrigation and ultimately improving the playing surface for the 100s of people that will use this facility next season and for many years into the future.
This was a hugely ambitious project for a grassroots football club, it is a highly professional installation and one completely volunteer led. A huge thanks must go to Paul Ellison, Dan Townsend and Andy Germany who have taken the lead on the Electrical, Mechanical and Groundworks involved over the last week.
Not only them, we have had an army of volunteers turn out each day putting in long hours and turning their hands to many different jobs to keep our plan on track.
Whether you have dug us a hole, picked up materials, taken time off work, lent us tools and machinery, provided your expertise, learnt a new skill, swept up the mess, set up an ice cream stall, delivered us our lunch, or made us a cup of tea.
This week was the best of Grassroots and volunteering… THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
Now we’ve seeded we wait…. and let nature take its course. In the coming weeks we’ll move onto our solar panel project and following that, our 4G replacement later next season when it’s allowable lifespan comes to an end.
Once again, thank you so much to everybody that supports our wonderful club.
