🥋🇺🇸 A special training experience for Amelia in America! 🇺🇸🥋

While visiting family in the USA, Amelia had the fantastic opportunity to train at JKA Boston in Massachusetts. What an amazing experience to represent our club overseas and train alongside other karateka! 👊

„On Tuesday 4th August Amelia trained at JKA Boston in Massachusetts, USA after being invited to attend a training session whilst in America visiting family.
The training lasted 75 minutes and was for intermediate and advanced students. There were 15 students of different grades, primarily brown and black belts and only two females including Amelia.
The class started with a warm up and period of meditation and breathing. This was followed by basics, kumite step sparring and kata. The first kata was Kihon but was referred to as Taikyoku Shodan. This was followed by all the other Katas, focussing on Heian Yondan and Bassai Dai.
The class ended with a warm down and quoting of the dojo code.
The class was lead by chief instructor Sensei Toryu, 7th Dan, former national kumite champion and former US team coach.
All club members gave Amelia a very warm welcome and didn’t hold back when training with her. She received compliments on her form and guidance from Sensei Toryu. She thoroughly enjoyed the experience and hopes to return.”

It’s fantastic to see our members taking their karate beyond our own dojo, meeting new karateka, experiencing different training environments and continuing to learn wherever they are in the world. 🌎

We’re sure this is an experience Amelia will remember for a long time — and hopefully the first of many international training opportunities! 💪🥋

🥋 What a fantastic day for our club!

On Sunday, several of our members travelled to Nottingham to take part in the JKA England National Course & Dan Grading.

It was a fantastic opportunity to train under Gneo Sensei (8th Dan) and Ohta Sensei (8th Dan), learning from two outstanding instructors and continuing to develop our karate.

The day was made even more special as, following the course, Megan successfully passed her Black Belt grading – an incredible achievement after years of dedication and hard work. We couldn’t be prouder! 🖤🥋

Adding to the celebrations, Lorenzo also passed his coaching qualification on the day – a fantastic result and a great step forward for him as an instructor🙇‍♂️

Well done to everyone who represented our club on the day 👊

We are delighted to announce that today Megan successfully passed her Black Belt grading!🥋🥳

It’s been a long journey filled with hard work, determination and plenty of training, and today it all paid off.

We’re so proud of everything you’ve achieved. Thank you for all the effort you’ve put in over the years – you absolutely deserve this moment.

Yesterday, our club was proud to host another successful belt grading, led by Sensei Dave Paulus.

A huge congratulations to everyone who graded! 👏🎉 Your hard work, determination, focus and perseverance were clear to see on the mats, and we couldn't be prouder of every single one of you. 💪🥋

🥋☀️ What a fantastic day we had at the Currys/GXO Summer Carnival last Sunday! 🎉

We were delighted to be part of such a brilliant event and introduce so many people to our karate club.

Our stand was busy throughout the day, with lots of children and adults stopping by to chat, find out more about karate, and have a go on the pads 👊💥 The level of interest was incredible, and it was great to see so many people getting involved and having fun!

A huge thank you to Currys/GXO for giving us the opportunity to be part of this amazing event and for making us feel so welcome. 🙏

We would also like to say a massive thank you to all our club members who volunteered their time to help on the day. Your enthusiasm, energy and support helped make the event a real success for our club. 👏🥋

JKA England National Championship 2026🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

What an incredible day at the JKA England National Championship held at K2 Crawley!

Our team stepped onto the tatami with confidence, focus, and determination, representing our club with pride alongside some of the strongest karateka from across the country. We are incredibly proud of every competitor and the effort, discipline, and respect they showed throughout the event.
