Newark Striders Weekend Round-Up! 🏃‍♂️☀️

What a weekend of racing! Our Striders turned up the heat across the UK, battling scorching Sunday temperatures and bringing home massive milestones.

History Made at Parkrun! 👑We do not usually report on individual parkrun times, but we simply have to make an exception for this incredible milestone. Huge congratulations to Simon Daniel, who ran his 500th parkrun! Simon is officially the very first male Strider to hit this legendary milestone. What an unbelievable achievement!

We also had our club tour park run, where Michael Parker ran his 300th park run with plenty of other Striders in attendance . 🧡

Chris Cantwell raced the Buxton Half Marathon on Sunday... To quote him "I reckon I sweated 3 litres" ! The chip time was 1.46 : 48 , what a phenomenal time give the immense heat wave.

Track Torture in Mansfield ⏱️🔥Over at the Mansfield track on Sunday, Peter Davies and Martin Waite had a busy—and brutally hot—afternoon. They gave a masterclass in "how to come last with style" across three grueling distances:1500m: Martin finished the B race in 5:28.2, and Peter took the C race in 7:11.8.3000m: Just an hour later, Martin clocked 11:52 and Peter crossed in 15:14.800m: They emptied the tank to finish the day with Martin at 2:43 and Peter at 3:46.Phenomenal grit from both of you out there in the heat!
