We would like to welcome Indie to the Charge It Up Team!

A bit about Indie: I started at AJ's at the age of 8, after taking a year's break from dance. The moment I started, I felt welcomed into the family and made so many friends I still talk to and see now. I continued at AJ's until I was 16, during which time I started singing lessons and extra classes. AJ's supported me through college auditions with singing lessons, private dance lessons, and guidance through the whole audition process. Even after my final classes, they continued to support me throughout my college life, inviting me back to dance in their show, chaperoning, and letting me teach classes I used to attend myself.
Since leaving AJ's, I've graduated with a 3-year diploma in Musical Theatre, qualified as a Dance Fit teacher, and taught dance and singing lessons at various places. I wouldn't have been able to achieve any of this without the confidence and life lessons the teachers at AJ's gave me, and I'm so grateful to still be part of their family even after graduating.

Indie will be taking over our STEP JAM aerobics class & we can't wait to welcome her into our Charge It Up Family!

✅ Get your body moving – whether that's a walk, a jog, a bike ride, or simply exploring somewhere new.
✅ Take a break from your screen and enjoy the fresh air.
Remember, exercise doesn't have to mean an intense workout. Every step you take is a step towards a healthier, happier you.

Today's challenge is simple: put on your favourite playlist and dance for 20 minutes. Whether you're busting out your best moves in the kitchen, having a dance party with the kids, or pretending you're headlining a concert in your living room, it all counts as movement!
Remember, staying active isn't about being perfect. It's about finding ways to move that you genuinely enjoy.

DAILY REMINDER💧

When it's warm, your body works harder just doing normal stuff. Dehydration makes you tired, foggy, and more likely to reach for the biscuit tin instead of going for that walk.
Try this: drink a full glass of water first thing in the morning before you do anything else. Then another one mid-afternoon. Your body will thank you.

Bonus: add a squeeze of lemon or some cucumber slices if you find plain water boring.

This one's for when you've been on your feet all day, chasing kids, doing the school holiday taxi run, or just because you deserve 10 minutes that are just for you.
Try this:
Seated forward fold – 45 seconds
Figure four stretch – 45 seconds each side
Child's pose – 1 minute
Cat-cow – 1 minute
Lying spinal twist – 45 seconds each side
Breathe slowly. Don't rush it. Your body carries you everywhere, a little love goes a long way.

Let's Be Honest...

Routine goes out the window in the school holidays.
The kids are everywhere, the schedule's all over the place, and motivation can just... disappear.

That's completely normal. You're not failing. You're just human.
Here's the only mindset shift you need: you don't have to be perfect to make progress. Even 10 minutes of movement is 10 minutes more than nothing. Even one walk counts. Even stretching on the living room floor while watching Love Island absolutely counts.

Keep the Charge It Up mentality going, even in the gaps. We'll be back before you know it 💛

No rules, no "it has to look a certain way," just 20 minutes of YOU choosing yourself.
I'm not asking you to transform your body. I'm asking you to show up for it, even when the sun's out and the sofa looks really bloody inviting.
