End of Season Update.
Well the 2021 season has drawn to a close. After the abbreviated 2020 season hopes were high for 2021 which has proven to be a bit of a roller coaster.
Dave started the season as yellow grade, kicking of the racing at the Kings Lynn Adrian Flux Stadium, managing to pick up points towards qualifying for the World Final.
Next came the National Pairs weekend at Skegness which started promising on the first day but then gearbox problems hit, taking the car out of the second days racing.
A new sponsor assisted towards the cost of repairing the car and we were up and running with a new gearbox for one of the opening meetings at the new Bradford Stadium. Dave managed to get to grips with the conditions picking up a good place in the final and adding to the points tally and moving him up a grade.
Sporting the new blue roof we headed out to Birmingham in June and Dave was on a roll collecting more points in the gold cup. The challenge now being to keep the blue top and also gain qualifying points for the world final.
Mildenhall Stadium in July was hot! But Dave still picked up some good points in all the races
Bradford again and Dave gained good points again securing the blue roof for the next grading period and qualifying for row 10 in the World final.
Hopes were high for the Bradford World Final and family and friends attended. Unfortunately after coming together with another car and getting off the track Dave wasn’t allowed to restart the race, which put him out of the World Final. Even though things didn't turn out as planned a few changes to the car resulted in 3 top 10 places in the rest of the meeting and made up the disappointment of the World Final. It's not a easy track and there was some great racing and some spectacular spills.
Since then due to domestic circumstances and injuries sustained off track Dave has not been able to race for the rest of the season which is not the end that we would have wished for.
Thank you to everyone for your support and help over the last few years and we hope that you enjoyed the racing as much as we did.
From all at stock car team 63 have a fabulous Christmas break and very best wishes for 2022.
