🏏 MATCH RESULT 🏏
A brilliant all-round performance saw New Romney & Littlestone CC secure an 85-run victory over Broughton & Eastwell CC in Sunday's friendly fixture.
Batting first, Romney posted 205/5 from 35 overs, thanks largely to an excellent unbeaten 62 from Grant Channon, who struck 5 fours and 2 sixes, and a well-crafted 47 from Elliot Symonds. Valuable support came from Tom Richardson (44) as Romney built a challenging total.
In reply, Broughton & Eastwell were restricted to 141/5 from 35 overs, despite an impressive unbeaten 85 from Finn O'Hara.
Romney's bowlers kept things tight throughout, with Gus Bowler producing outstanding figures of 2-4 from 4 overs. Chris Lee, Rob Liddell and Tom Richardson all picked up a wicket, while the fielding effort remained sharp from start to finish.
Thank you to Broughton & Eastwell CC for a competitive fixture played in great spirit.

Last time we had fewer sellers than usual, but the good news is that everyone made great sales, with over 300 buyers coming through the gates. Imagine what you could sell with even more boots on site!

New Romney Cricket Club hosted Rolvenden CC who filled in for us due to a late cancellation. The hosts won the toss and elected to bat on warm but overcast day which halted proceedings with a heavy shower for 10 minutes or so.

New Romney scored an impressive 262-4 from their allocated 35 overs. Skipper Elliot Symonds batted through the Innings with 74* off 89 balls with support from Tom Richardson who scored his first century for the club with 100* off 61 balls including 19 boundaries with a 2nd wicket partnership of 131 on 17.1 overs with the Skipper. Rob Liddell scored a quick fire 51 off 40 balls at number 4. With the top order setting the tone for the 2nd innings.

Rolvenden CC batted though their allocated overs respectively ending the innings with 179-8. T.Owen & G.Bowler taking a wicket each, also notably Gus in the field taking 2 well taken catches in gully. Brian Knight taking a superb one handed catch off Rob Liddell at point to remove their danger man N.Picton who top scored with 53. Elliot Symonds took 2-24 off 6 overs after the drinks break. Arran Harvey bowled with a decent spell midway through the second innings to halt the visitors progress going for 12 runs off 4 overs. But Rob Liddell stole the show with his part time so called off spin finishing with figures of 4-20 off 7 overs. Not to mention a successful dodgy LBW decision which came with begging to the umpire and saying ‘please’ ‘come on’ on both knees.
