Amongst all the excitement of yesterday, it was important to take a moment of silence to reflect on two losses to the Welsh rowing community.

Charlie Martin, a stalwart of Llangrannog Rowing Club and a much-loved figure within the Welsh Sea Rowing community, was well known and respected throughout the sport. Sadly, Charlie lost his battle with motor neurone disease.

Finlay Tarling was an incredible young athlete who was tragically killed in an accident while competing in Portugal. Whilst best known for his cycling, Finlay was formerly a member of the CRIW (Ceredigion Indoor Rowing) community. He was an exceptional indoor rower, still holding the Welsh Schools Record for 4 minutes in his year group. A remarkable achievement and testament to his incredible talent.

Our thoughts are with their friends, families and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.

We had a grand day out in Cardigan for the Mermaid race today.
The race (thankfully) was shortened due to conditions.
We were 9th of 17 and 2nd women’s crew of 5 😊
Our cox had to do some very strange manoeuvring to get us back to the exit slip way 😳😂
We also had one of our rowers make up a crew for another club 😎

We had a lovely day at Clwb Rhwyfo Aberystwyth Rowing Club Regatta last Sunday.
No trophies but great fun and lovely to meet up with people from other clubs

Lovely social row this evening.

New Quay was busy on both land and sea - full tour boats, paddle boarders, kayakers & families crabbing off the pier.
Plenty of fishing lines - the mackerel are in.
Dolphins close to the shore & plenty of bird life.
How lucky are we to get out on the water for very little expense.
If you want to learn to row, get fit, get on the water, try rowing races (short or long) do get in touch with us. We have excellent coaches & we guarantee you will be hooked 😉
