🏆 Club Championship Weekend 2026 🏆

What a fantastic weekend we enjoyed at Barton-on-Sea Golf Club for our Club Championship.

Congratulations to Sebastian Lewis, who is crowned our 2026 Club Champion after rounds of 75 and 73 for a 36-hole total of 148.

The championship went right down to the wire, with Sebastian producing a clutch birdie on Needles 9 (his final hole) in front of a crowd of spectators on Sunday to secure victory by just one shot from a group of four chasing players. A truly memorable finish to a brilliant championship! 👏

Congratulations also to David Green, who claimed the Nett Championship with an outstanding nett 70 on Day 1.

A huge well done to everyone who took part over the weekend. The standard of golf was excellent and the competition was fierce throughout.

Finally, thank you to all the staff, volunteers and greenkeeping team whose hard work ensured the event ran so smoothly. The course was presented in outstanding condition and provided a superb test for the field.

Congratulations once again to all of our prize winners and thank you to everyone who helped make the weekend such a success.

🏆 We're all set for what promises to be a fantastic Club Championship weekend at Barton-on-Sea Golf Club.

A full field of 96 members will tee it up today, all competing for a place in tomorrow's final round, with the top 30 scores and ties progressing through to Day 2.

The weather forecast couldn't be much better, with almost perfect conditions expected for championship golf.

A huge well done to Craig and his greenkeeping team for presenting the course in superb condition. The course is looking absolutely fantastic and provides the perfect stage for our flagship competition.

Good luck to everyone taking part. Play well, enjoy the challenge, and we look forward to seeing who will be crowned Club Champion!

A huge well done to our Assistant Professional Josh on winning his first tournament as a professional last week!

What a fantastic achievement and a testament to all the hard work, dedication and commitment he's put into his game.

And to make the occasion even more special, it came just in time to celebrate his 24th birthday — not a bad way to mark the milestone! 🎉

A special mention to two of our junior members ⛳️👏

Ava Haines (age 12) recently won a Hampshire Future Champions League event at Ampfield Golf Club with a fantastic score of 44 points — a brilliant achievement!

George Stewart (age 11) also had a moment to remember after scoring a hole-in-one on Becton 8 🏌️‍♂️✨

In a nice bit of club inspiration, this may even have rubbed off on Junior Organiser Graham Priddey, who went on to make a hole-in-one himself just a few days later on Stroller 3!

We’re incredibly proud of our busy junior section, and the fantastic work Pete and the team put in every Saturday morning to help develop the next generation of golfers.

Congratulations to our fantastic team of Mens Captain Nigel Watson, Lady Captain Ann Harford, Mens Vice Captain Jason Farnell, and Ladies Vice Captain Nicky Kay, who represented Barton-on-Sea Golf Club at the Salisbury & South Wiltshire Invitation Bowl earlier this week.

Competing against teams from 20 other clubs, they produced an outstanding performance to win the competition with an impressive 166 points!

A wonderful achievement and a great example of the strength and spirit of our club.

Well done to Nigel, Ann, Jason and Nicky for representing Barton-on-Sea Golf Club so brilliantly. 🏆⛳

Stroller 7 is one of the most scenic tee shots on the course — but don’t let the views take your attention away from the task in hand 👀

With out of bounds running both left and right, accuracy from the tee is essential. The ideal line is down the right half of the fairway, shaped with a controlled draw to set up the best angle in.

From there, your second shot is played over the marker post towards a challenging two-tiered green.

And a word to the wise… if the pin is tucked at the back, don’t be afraid to take an extra club.

A beautiful hole — but a demanding one.
