Meet Our Coach
Ben Lin β Coach & Programme Lead (Outlet Basketball / Warriors Pathway)
Iβm a coach within the Outlet Basketball Club and Whiteley Warriors Basketball CIC Warriors pathway, where I work across both grassroots and development programmes to support players of all ages and abilities.
Alongside my coaching, Iβm currently studying a university degree in coaching and strength & conditioning. This allows me to apply what Iβm learning academically into real environments, helping me deliver sessions that are structured, progressive, and focused on long-term player development.
One of my main roles has been building and leading the New Forest Novas, which I started from scratch. Since launching, weβve grown to over 40 players across U12, U14, and U16 age groups. Iβm responsible not just for coaching, but also for managing bookings, working with venues, running social media, and supporting recruitment β giving me a full understanding of how a club operates day to day.
Across the wider programme, I deliver sessions for U10, U12, U14, and U16 players, working alongside a strong network of Level 2 coaches. Iβve coached over 480 young players so far, and Iβm constantly looking to develop my coaching style by learning from others and reflecting on my own sessions.
Iβve also been heavily involved in school engagement, helping to bring basketball into schools such as Arnewood, The Grange, and Twynham, as well as supporting delivery in other primary and secondary settings. This has been important in helping create a pathway from schools into club basketball.
From an operational side, I manage systems like Spond for communication and payments, helping keep everything organised and running smoothly. I hold Basketball England safeguarding and first aid qualifications, and I regularly attend CPD sessions to continue improving my knowledge and practice.
Over the past year, Iβve dedicated over 25 hours a week to coaching, development, and administration, often travelling to support sessions and programmes across different areas. I take pride in being reliable, consistent, and fully committed to the players and the club.
My goal is to continue developing as a coach, support as many players as possible on their journey, and play a key role in growing the game within the Warriors pathway.
