We are affiliated to British Taekwondo, all instructors are DBS certified and we teach World Taekwondo style (traditional and sport). Mark has trained in the art of Taekwondo since he was 11 years old. When Too Meng Keng left the club because of family commitments abroad, he continued his training under James Cowan. He passed his black belt on 23rd April 1988. In June 1988 James Cowan decided to f
urther his training by going abroad. This is when Mark Ford took over the running of the club which is still going strong after all these years. Our Instructors are highly qualified. As well as years of experience teaching Taekwondo, they have all complete a British Taekwondo (BT) L2 instructors courses and the assistant coaches have completed the British Taekwondo Assistant Coaching Course. The BT instructors course includes training in Child Protection, Health and Safety & First Aid. Also, by law, to become a Taekwondo Instructor, Instructors have to pass a Criminal Records Bureau Check (CRB) check. New Milton Taekwondo can boast that it has trained nearly 65 people to black belt and beyond, and its instructors go on regular courses to maintain the high level of instruction that our students deserve. New Milton also have players that have competed in national, international and World Championship competitions, achieving good success.
