Heading for an outdoor swim in this heatwave? Make sure safety comes first. ☀️

Whether you're swimming in the sea, a lake or along the coast, here are some simple things to think about to keep you and your loved ones safe:

✔ Choose a location with lifeguards whenever possible
✔ Remember, it's much harder to swim in the sea than in a swimming pool
✔ Let someone know where you're swimming and keep someone on shore if you can
✔ Avoid using inflatables, as they can quickly be carried away by currents and offshore winds

If you find yourself or someone else in serious difficulty at the coast, call 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard immediately.

Enjoy the water and make safety your top priority. 🌊☀️
