All Change…
Hello. Here we go….so
‘I’m leaving the fitness industry’
as a business will close its flowery kick ass doors as we know it on the 30th Sept. We will be running evening classes only until the end of Sept. Monday Yoga, Wednesday dance , Pole Fitness and Thursday evening Pilates will all continue so please come along for last month of fun times. Kickboxing and hoop will continue
We know how disappointed some of you will feel and hope you take away some wonderful memories and valuable knowledge for your future training.
If your interested in the ‘why’? and what’s happened - feel free to read on:
Reactions have included ‘ good for you Alison’ and ‘I’m so bloody excited for you’
It has also been said its really sad too- but the result truth is - I don’t feel sad, at all. A huge indicator that I know - it’s time. In fact. I’m excited for new shiny chapter.
As a trainer for the last 12 years, I get to hold my short ass 5ft head high- knowing I’ve created 3 great businesses in their own rights, worked for many others In many gyms and I’ve taken many risks that others wouldn’t have even dreamt of. I’ve worked with superb people, built and earned a great reputation as a solid, knowledgable well- regarded trainer. I couldn’t have asked for more. We’ve created and scooped together communities of people that still have friendships to this day. I simply couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve achieved. It’s been a totally raucous, outrageous, wild and wonderful journey all in equal measure.
However - I’ve been unexpectedly offered a new role - returning to a sector that I worked in for a good 12 years - before Fitness.
It made me stop and think about what I wanted most .I love training , but I know my time in fitness is complete. I want something new for myself and my future.
Ive been super lucky I was able to be part of the fitness industry in it’s real heyday. It’s changed a lot now. I’ve taught almost all genres of exercise. I’m Qualified to a high level and taught everyone from kids through to neuro rehab and everything in between. I think I really have simply exhausted all my possibilities in this industry and I crave something fresh, a new challenge. I need to be true to myself and how I want to shape my future for me and my family- and your support with this has been phenomenal ..
There happen to be few personal circumstances too in our little lives - which I won’t detail, but the real icing on the proverbial cake when it came to making a choice for our future was the estimation of cost for energy bills for winter in the studio… that and the nationwide panic regarding the unknown general state of upcoming finances for us all- watching every penny we all spend.
It just all rolled together in August -at the right time .. making it actually, the perfect storm to change things for the better for our family … and I’m grateful it did because I feel wonderful , entirely and weirdly free and liberated - more than I have done for bloody years.
I’ll hopefully still teach my beloved pole to my amazing girls ( love them all so much) an hour a week at the studio ( details pending). Which I know the pole girls are really rooting for.
So Finally then, a huge heartfelt Thanks to all the wonderful people that have put their time into coming to my classes over the years. Thanks to all my 1-1 clients. Some of you have stuck with me for a decade- you superstars . Thanks to all who employed me, trusted me to train Them, worked with me and put up with me …sorry for all the pranks I likely pulled on you. Thanks to my mentors, the opportunities, the education and knowledge. We never stop learning.
Even bigger thanks to my dear dear friends who’ve have supported me tirelessly, and continuously through everything. You’ll forever be my dear dear friends - you are invaluable and irreplaceable. I’ll never lose you - in fact I’ll now have more lovely time to spend with you!
Thanks to my instructors that helped me run both my businesses. Your very special people . I’m grateful to have had your respect trust and friendship.
Most Special thanks to my family.
My kids who sat in buggies in leisure centres when they were tiny eating Potato waffles out of plastic bowls whilst I taught classes. Who stayed up late and were dragged about so I could work and build up a mini fitness empire. Who made me tea when I walked in at 10.30pm after work and listened about my day.
My parents who ran around helping me with kid picks up and babysitting and support ..
Biggest thanks though to the man who’s constantly by my side. Always there whatever I decide to do. Protecting me as much as he can from everything that may cause me harm, fiercely loyal and grafts to make our family dreams come true .Total unquestionable and Unconditional support.
Lee I could never have done it without you- And wow, we did it, and what a journey we’ve had. Look what we created. Wouldn’t have done it any differently because we have learnt so much about ourselves, each other and our determination and strength as a team. The bloody A-Team! ( cue music)
THANKS ALL FOR THE FUN, SWEAT, & HARDWORK EVERYONE
Remember to watch your form over anything else … always - I hope that sticks with you forever
It’s been a blast… I’ve been very blessed
Running a fitness business - completed it mate - over and out
Love you all
See you soon
