Happy Birthday to our very own running machine, Abbey! 🥳⚽️

If effort alone won football matches, we’d already have the league wrapped up. Week in, week out you give absolutely EVERYTHING on the pitch, chasing every ball, throwing yourself into tackles and never backing down from a battle. The definition of 100% commitment .

Your fashion game deserves its own special mention too… because honestly, nobody,and we mean nobody, wears a sweater vest like Abbey.

Somehow you also manage to turn up to football already covered in bruises, grazes and mystery injuries from the night before… but that never stops you getting stuck in and putting your body on the line for the team.

You bring so much energy, hard work and personality to this team and we’re lucky to have you. Hope your day is as iconic as your outfit choices, Happy Birthday Abbsta!

Sunday 10th May
West Woking Women 11’s vs Merstham Ladies

An absolutely immense performance from Rajaa in our clash against Merstham. Rock solid at the back, she refused to let anything past her; using her strength, composure, and no‑nonsense defending to shut down attack after attack.
She never backed down from a challenge and showed once again that she’ll protect her teammates and the back of the net at all costs. With a huge amount of work to do this week, she not only kept pushing right to the final whistle but also lifted the players around her, keeping heads high and spirits up.
A true leader, a fighter, and fully deserving of Player of the Match.

Sunday 10th May
West Woking Women 11’s vs Merstham Ladies

A tough result on paper, but so many positives to take from the pitch! 💪⚽️
From the first whistle, West Woking Women came out strong with some brilliant passing play, solid defending, and great transitions into attack. The effort and teamwork were clear to see. Despite creating several chances, the Merstham keeper was on fire, keeping out some fantastic strikes from our forwards.
Unfortunately, a few tough calls went against us, and with an injured keeper, the odds weren’t in our favour. Before we knew it, Merstham had found the back of the net too many times, final score 6-0. But the spirit from the Woking side never dropped for a second.

Special mentions:
👏 Penny, who played her first league game outfield, put in an incredible shift!
👏 Summer, making her debut in 11-a-side football, showed real determination and composure throughout.

Even in defeat, this match showed the progress and grit in the squad. The fight, the passing, and the attitude were there; the goals will come.

This week, we swapped our usual pink and black for green 💚
For Mental Health Awareness Week, the women stood together to show support, spark conversations, and remind everyone that mental health matters — on and off the pitch.
Football is more than a game. It’s community, support, friendship, and being there for each other through every high and low.
Wear green. Check in on your teammates. Start the conversation.

Happy Birthday to our midfield engine ⚽️💨

The girl who genuinely never stops running, flies into every challenge like her life depends on it, and somehow still has enough energy left to bring the banter every single week. You’re such a huge part of this team, on and off the pitch, and football wouldn’t be the same without your laughter, chaos and the occasional cheeky elbow thrown in for good measure 😂

Over the last few years you’ve worked unbelievably hard to improve your game and it shows every time you step onto the pitch. Your determination, fight and passion are unmatched, even if sometimes your toughest opponent is yourself. But just know how valued you are by every single one of us.

We adore you exactly as you are and wouldn’t change a thing. Have the best birthday, just try not to two-foot anyone while celebrating 😉💕
