Alresford Golf Club A members club with a friendly atmosphere, offering a picturesque and easy walking downland course

Situated on the edges of the South Downs National Park , Alresford is one of only 30 downland courses in the whole of England . Distinguished by fast-running, undulating fairways, firm greens and wonderful vistas across the surrounding countryside, it is an easy walking course suitable for all ages and one of the oldest and prettiest places to play in Hampshire. It is unique in that it is lush in

the summer and enjoys outstanding natural drainage in the winter ensuring that bad weather does not spoil your golf with mud and poor conditions underfoot. Always well presented , the layout is a challenging test for both amateurs and professionals, regularly hosting county amateur and PGA competitions. With a wide range of Membership categories to choose from, enquiries are welcome from both current golfers , beginners and non-golfers. The club also benefits from having some of the best practice facilities in the county with driving range, wedge area with all-weather Huxley turfed green, practice bunker and chipping greens as well as an 8 hole par 3 short course. Visiting golfers and society groups are also made welcome with packages and offers throughout the year. Please contact the General Manager for a membership information pack or to arrange a visit.

📣 Big shoutout to Polly Church from Alresford Golf Club, who has raised an incredible £19,445.56 to support the purchase of a Magseed machine for University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust - a vital localisation tool that helps accurately identify breast cancers.

Throughout 2025, Polly has gone above and beyond, organising a fantastic range of fundraising events including a garden party, quiz evening and an ABBA tribute night 💃.

Thank you, Polly, for your hard work and support of Southampton Hospitals Charity. Your dedication and generosity have made a real difference - we’re so grateful for everything you’ve achieved.

Winter Project Update!

This week, our Greenkeepers have laid 650m² of turf on the 8th surround.

Before laying the turf, the site had to be drained of water, and in many areas the soil had to be re-landscaped after heavy rain washed fissures through it.

A great effort from our Greenkeepers, working in and around some extreme weather conditions.

Alresford Golf Club is delighted to share that we have chosen Wi******er Youth Counselling as our Charity of the Year.

The Charity provides vital mental-health and wellbeing support to young people aged 11–25 in our community.

Throughout the year, our members and visitors can look forward to a range of fundraising events and activities as we work together to support the amazing work they do.

Our Greenkeepers are making great progress with the winter project on the 8th hole.

A swale is being constructed to the left of the Green. Chalk has been added to the front to reduce the slope before two new bunkers are installed.

We continue to follow the suggestions of the Hawtree Golf Course Architects report to further enhance our golf course.

The Alresford Scratch Trophy final was held yesterday between Alresford and Stoneham Golf Clubs. The matches were played in great spirit, showcasing excellent golf throughout.
